The trained stopped a few hours later at a train station filled with people; each person desperate to get a good look at the contestants this year. Maria grunted before shoving a few people out of her way in order to get to where there was a car waiting for them. The girls shoved them into the car before sighing deeply.
“You know, it’s better if we didn’t shove them out of the way as they are the ones that may help us in the games” Katrina said to Maria with a sharp look.
“I can’t help it, knowing they’re the ones that are going to have our deaths and many more on their hands” Maria said angrily.
“It’s not too bad. I mean, the more they hate us, the better right? No hard feelings if we leave but the boys seem to be at natural ease with this stuff” Lily said as she looked at the boys, who were still waving to the Capitol Citizens out of the window.
“True that...I just don’t want them to get wrapped up in thinking this is natural.” Katrina whispered back.
“They’re getting people to like them! That’s the aim of the game, especially if they’re the ones that are going to be helping out the tributes.” Angel said reasonably.
“Look, just forget about it alright? We’re going to die, they’re going to live, get back to their mainland and live the rest of their lives in peace” Maria snapped.
There was an odd deep sorrowful silence in the car mixed with awkward tension. No one really knew what to say...They were literally all there waiting to die. Who wants to be that one person who has to live through the pain of competing against other children?
The car pulled up against a building that reminded the group of a prison. There were guards in white uniforms outside the place and had barbed wire around the fence.
“It was for security matters when some contestants tried to escape a few years ago” Olivia said, answering the unknown question the boys had in their minds. The boys nodded before following the girls up to the elevator and clicking the number 15.
They rode up to their apartment and walked in. The apartment was completely up to date and the furniture was totally designer. There were two bedrooms, labelled Girls and Boys. Considering each of them was exhausted from today’s events, they decided to just head off to sleep.

Harry was the first to wake up in the morning, with the sun just rising into the sky. He looked at the sun with admiration and sadness. The sun reminded him of home but it also reminded him that it is now a day closer to the event that is about to occur.
“Can’t sleep?” A voice asked from behind him. He turned around to see Olivia, standing in her usual gear.
“No, I just woke up actually. I just can’t help but think...it’s just a day closer until the competition isn’t it?” Harry asked her. Olivia looked at him with a sad look. She walked onto the balcony and stood beside him.
“I won’t lie, Harry, the event is tomorrow. We have to prepare you for it. Maria is going to tell you exactly what to do when we go into the arena but ultimately it is going to be down to you” She told him with honesty in her voice.
“Even if you can’t save us all, we thank you, Olivia, for at least trying” He said to her.
“Don’t thank us until you are safe” She said, leaving Harry alone on the balcony.
He reflected over her words before sighing. Olivia was right. He couldn’t think negatively, not now! His ears perked up as he heard the other boys waking up slowly from their slumber.
