I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. I clumsily turn it off and start my day. Descending the stairs, the smell of fresh pancakes hits my nostrils, making my mouth water. Entering the kitchen I find my dad setting two plates pilled with golden pancakes and syrup. He smiles gently when he notices me.
"Good morning sweetheart"
"Morning dad!"
"Come on, let's eat our breakfast and head to the station, we don't wanna be late."
We sat and devoured our breakfast. You'd be surprised by how good of a cook my dad is. Seriously these are the best pancakes I ever tasted!
Today I would be headed to my 3rd year at hogwarts. To say I was excited was an understatement; I missed my friends so much, all of them, and I also missed hogwarts. They didn't lie when they said this place is magical. You will forever feel a longing for hogwarts once u visit it. Once we were done eating, I headed to my room to do some last minute preparation before we apparte to the station. I wasn't gonna miss home as much this year. I take one last look at my nearly empty room before I join my dad at the doorway.
"You ready to go?" He asks sweetly.
"I was born ready dad." I reply. He chuckled softly.
"Let's go then".
Next I know we were at the train station. My head was still spinning, and I felt slightly nauseous after our rather... rough ride. No matter how much I did it, apparting will always suck. Dad waited a bit for me to collect myself before we headed to a wall. Yes, a wall, our gateway to platform 9¾. My dad went in first. I braced myself, then started running towards the wall. After 3 years of doing it, I still squeeze my eyes shut and prepare for an impact that never happens. I then appear on the platform, taking a minute to admire all the people there. Witches and wizards. Merlin have I missed the magical world!
My dad was waiting for me.
"That was a rush of adrenaline" I say breathlessly.
"I thought you were born ready" he teases. I punch him playfully on the shoulder even though I couldn't stop the grin which forced it's way to my mouth.
"Well let's hop onto the train before all the compartments are occupied"
We headed towards the mighty hogwarts express. It's reds and blacks glistening in the lights of the platform. I think of the upcoming year. This is going to be a different one, since this year, I am not going to Hogwarts alone.
