Chapter: 5

Since we got dismissed early, we still had time before the next class. Me, katie and Elle went to the middle courtyard to hang out before our second session.

We started spilling each one's tea, ofcourse teasing katie about her and Blaise.

"Well lucky for u katie kate, me and the gang are getting really close, you could say I am considered one of it as well! So you guys are gonna come eat lunch with us at the Slytherin table today. No arguing, no buts."

"Bu-" I was about to protest

"Nuh-uh I said no buts. Actually, they are excited to meet you. And lemme tell you, Theo seemed so excited when I mentioned you" Elle said with a smirk.

Theo...Theo. I tested the name on my tongue. Nope, it feels strange, Imma keep calling him Nott for sure.

Our next session was Transfiguration, which me and Kate didn't share with Elle, but that's fine cause after that we had Care of Magical Creatures which we shared with her. As we went down to the grounds, I couldn't help but feel excited about Hagrid teaching this class. We arrived to our class and settled under one of the trees watching other students approach. And soon enough Elle appeared with the other Slytherins in toe. The class was something to say the least, as the fact that hagrid is our teacher and we will be learning about magical creatures. He seemed pretty nervous and out of his comfort zone, but I tried to cast him reassuring smiles whenever he looked our way.

Our first lesson was about hippogriffs, that looked like some sort of gaint bird/horse hybrid. "A bit of an odd choice for the first lesson don't you think?" I asked katie.

"Yeah.. I hope everything goes well." She said, glancing worriedly over to me.

Hagrid started talking about the creature, introducing us to buckbeak, his hippogriff. Then he asked the class who wanted to approach it. Everyone backed away except harry, who seemed dumbfounded when hagrid called him over to approach it. He slowly went towards it, holding out his hand as if trying to tame a beast.

Gasps and whispers grew as buckbeak slowly but surely neared harry's outstretched hand. He did it. He successfully tamed a hippogriff. Then Hagrid unexpectedly put harry on it's back, as it went off flying around. We all looked astonished as the hippogriff took a very joyful Harry on a ride around the grounds.

Once it returned and harry was off of it, a scoff sounded from beside us. Malfoy came forward, moving with confident strikes towards the creature.

"Well you're not dangerous at all now are you?" He sounded angry with a hint of challenge in his voice. Something must have triggered buckbeak, maybe Malfoy's confident demeanour, because it suddenly raised its two front legs in the air and striked him as he shielded his body with his arm. He fell to the ground with a scream, whimpering as blood gushed out of his arm. Students started panicking a little as hagrid tried to calm buckbeak down.

"Draco!" Elle shouted and rushed towards him, I've never heard her call him by his first name before. She seemed panicked as she tried to stem the blood from his wound.

Eventually she was assigned to take him to the hospital wing, as hagrid took care of the hippogriff. And once again we were dismissed early. I mean Merlin's beard it's only still the first day of school!
