The rest of the day passed, thankfully, without any more trouble. We didn't end up having lunch with the Slytherins as both Elle and Malfoy didn't show up. After our classes finished, me and I headed to the hospital wing to check on Elle.
Once we arrived, we found her sitting next to a sleeping Malfoy on one of the beds. We went outside to talk.
"Where have you been? we were worried about you girl" katie asked
"Yeah I know, I'm sorry it's just you know.. " she trailed off, looking lost of words.
"It's okay Elle, but... you know, be careful from Malfoy and don't let your emotions overpower your logic" I was worried she was actually falling for him, after all, this was Malfoy we were talking about.
"Hey! I do not fancy Malfoy, firstly. Secondly he isn't a totally bad person, he's different than what you see, and- and he's my.. friend. We are friends yeah, nothing more. And I did what a friend would do."
"If you say so, Miss Tracy"When it was time for dinner, we headed to the Slytherin table. Elle insisted that we have dinner instead of our missed lunch. And how could you say no to Elle Tracy's puppy eyes?
We approached the table, Elle sitting with Malfoy to her right cradling a bandaged arm in a sling, and Nott to her left looking as chill as ever. Zabini sat on the opposite side along with Matheo Riddle. Katie ended up sitting next to blaise while I was sandwiched between Nott and Elle. For some reason my stupid heart wouldn't stop beating so fast, it's the first time I was this close to the Slytherins, especially Nott, whom I could even smell his cologne. To say I was nervous was an understatement.
"Well we finally got to meet you ladies. It's a pleasure!" Blaise sounded really sweet, which surprised me a bit, but again Elle did say they were good.
"Yeah, Elle said some great things about you." Hearing Nott's voice so close felt so weird, almost unreal. And just like that we sat there, eating and chatting, slowly breaking the ice, which was surprisingly going quite smoothly. I found myself feeling more at ease than I was when I first sat here, and I frankly was enjoying my time.Of course, we did get some ugly stares from other Slytherins, and even Gryffindors, as we were two Gryffindor girls sitting on the Slytherin table withnonen other than the Slytherins. But if anyone wasn't satisfied, they didn't dare voice it out loud as the boys sitting with us seemed more than ready to shut them up.
Sometime later while eating, my knife dropped towards the ground. I bent down to retrieve it, only for my hand to land on another warm bigger one. Nott has bent down too to get it. I quickly drew back my hand, but that didn't stop me from feeling the warmth from his hand linger on my fingertips. In my haste to go up, I realised a moment too late that my movements were off. I bumped my head on the table , but to my shock, my head was cushioned. I went up and straightened in my seat. Nott had simply put his hand to prevent the impact between my head and the table."Be careful" was the only thing he said, not even looking at me, casually eating his dinner.
"Thanks" I replied in a low voice, already feeling heat creep up my neck and a blush forming at my cheeks.
