Brandy's POV
I was happy that we won the First Stage, it gave me a feeling like we might be able to come on top in this competition. I knew that we all owned it to Leo, even in the end if we win the competition. He is a great leader. I also noticed he knew how to please people. But, it would seem like your cool with him, but at the same time you would know barely anything about him. He is a strange individual.
Everyone is pumped for the Second Stage. The officers announced that twenty teams were already out of the competition. The reason was because they are unfit for the competition. We didn't really care because we are on top of the charts anyways. I was reading my new book, while everyone started to show up for the competition. It's fun missing school. I don't have to worry about homework, and I spent most of my time with my friends.
Everyone took their serum once they would inter the Gym, and I remember it clearly that my powers didn't come to me this fast last time. Because the minute I took the serum I felt something light rushing through my veins. Maybe I was getting used to my powers.
Once everyone showed up, the competition started. The only thing that was abnormal was that Anita, and Mari were pacing, they would not sit down. Brishen tried calming Anita down, and Ben tried soothing Mari.
"What's wrong guys?" I asked them. They both looked at me, and I could see their pupils. It looked their pupils wanted to pop out of their eyes.
Anita said, "This serum is affecting me, I think. I feel like I want to e-explode. Brishen pass me the pills in my bag, I'm having a migraine." Mari just nodded at Anita's comment, and she continues to pace. I felt sorry for them, you could tell they are in pain. I looked around at other teams, and I realized that Anita and Mari aren't the only ones. There were other people who looked sick, and nervous.
"Your having a 'Power Hit', it happens to people who have weak bodies, and can't handle the serum intake. It normally happens on the second intake of the serum. You're fine, once you use your powers for a bit, it'll go away." Leo said causally, as I watched Brishen pass Anita her prescription.
The Second Stage is a bit different from the first one. We all have to go individually and face against someone from another team. People were called up by the Alphabetic Order. The fights were to 'the death'. You have to kill your opponent in the arena, to get past this Stage.
Officers announced, "In this stage we are looking at your individual talent. Remember this is just a hologram fight, do not think too much about it. You are not literarily killing your opponent."
We all watched carefully as one by one they tried to kill each other using their powers. Most people didn't know how to fight, but the male against male fights were entertaining. Anita having a last name on letter A, was the first to go from our team.
"Shred em'," Leo said with a smile, trying to cheer Anita up. Anita gave back a weak smile, as she left for the arena.
She had to face a football player, I felt bad for her. You could tell she stood no chance. Anita has some meat on her bones, but she is pretty weak. Then at the same time, it's all about your powers, and not about your strength.
Anita's POV
I was standing in front of a big African-American football player. At this point I didn't care, I just wanted to get this finished with. My head was hurting so bad. I formed a long machete. This is the only metal weapon I'm experienced enough to form. I watched my opponent carefully, as he prepared himself for the fight. He has powers of speed. I knew the moment he ran towards he, that I'm screwed. All I could do is prepare for the impact. I pulled my arms together, and before he reached me, I felt the impact of him vibrate against my arms. I realized I formed a shield, and he hit it head first, like a dumb ass. I started to smirk. The guy backed away, and started to swear. Everyone was laughing. I realized that this is my advantage, I took my machete and was about to stab him right in the back. Then he moved, and I felt wind moving behind me, I ducked and saw his arm above me. He was trying to get me by the neck. I turned quickly around and got him right on his calf before he could get away. Now that he is bleeding, I could see his trail of blood, as he tried to run. He is injured, and I began to throw daggers at him. I got him once in the shoulder, and the stomach. I was pleased with myself. He was even more hurt now. He couldn't run. I walked up to him, and with one swing of my machete I decapitated him. I wasn't expecting it to be this messy, but blood began to rush out of his neck. It got all over me.
