Chapter 10: Third Stage

Skylar's POV

I was walking quickly to the Gym. Today, I woke up late, and I was running late to school. I was the last one to show up for competition. I took my serum, and quickly sat with the rest of the team. Leo scolded me for being late. Today is the Third Stage, so he was pretty mad for me to be running so late.
The officers explained again how the competition is going to go through. The way to win this stage is to defeat the team we will face against. Another fifty teams were disqualified from the competition. It looked more empty in the Gym now. Now, that the competition was cut this short, they told us to pick our team name.
"Trap Gods!" Calvin said with a grin. We all laughed at his idea.
"No, we need something else." Leo said with a serious face.
"The Power Lordz." Ben said with wide eyes to add affect. Leo just nodded a no.
"5SOS!!!" Mari said with excitement. Five Seconds of Summer is her favorite band.
"Yeah, might as well name ourselves One Direction." Leo said with playful sarcasm. Mari gave him a playful frown back.
"How about Falling Stars?" Anita said quietly. I thought Leo wouldn't hear her.
"Hmmmmm, I like that. This will do." Leo said with an approval.
After every team chose their names, the Third Stage started. We watched carefully as Foam Pandas fought The Field Rockers. Foam Pandas was an aggressive team of junior girls. The Field Rockers are just some sophomore team. The Field Rockers weren't doing so great the whole time, Foam Pandas had advantage because they played so aggressive. Just like everyone thought, Foam Pandas won. Our team was called up, after they won. We had been put against Silver Blisters. Right as our team exchanged spots with Foam Panda, I heard one of them say something.
"These little shits again, I hope they loose. What a stupid name too. Falling Stars." The redheaded girl said.
Then the other girl added, "Yup, they'll be falling when we get our hand on em' in the Finals." And they all laughed. I wanted to punch the redheaded bitch right in the face, but Leo stopped me.
"Don't mind them, they're just trash talking." He said.
Right when we got into the arena, Leo ordered us to be in our positions. Me and Brandy thought of a combo together, yesterday. Leo approved it, and it's our backup card. Brishen and Anita also have a combo together.
Silver Blisters aren't the best team, but they know how to be annoying. One of them jumped at us, but Decker blocked him with his shield. The guy was knocked down on his back. I took advantage of that, and used my vines to trap him. Then one of them tried to get him out of my vines, and Brandy backed me up. Leo was being attacked by the Silver Blisters Leader, Anita was helping him. Calvin, Brishen and Ben were fighting the rest of the guys. Mari and Thomas were in the background healing and helping when ever they could. The fight was getting more heated, and Leo told us that we could use our combos. Brandy and me picked our two victims. I let Brandy trap the two guys in her whirl wind, and then I combined my vines into her wind. They were vines with thorns, so basically the two guys got shredded as if they just went through a mixer. It was bloody and their body parts were splattered all over the arena. Leo was proud of us, but he wasn't pleased that he got one of the guys fingers launched at him when we were shredding the guys. The next move was made by Brishen, and Anita. Anita let Brishen intertwine his lightning into her sword, and like that she got three kills. Silver Blisters are cut down to five now. Leo told us to back up, I didn't know why. But then I saw Mari make a huge wave of water that overtook the Silver Blisters all together. After the water went away, they were soaked. Leo used his ice powers and froze them all to death.
Everyone cheered, as we got out of the arena. I was happy that we won this stage. The stages get harder and harder every day it seems. But, we're still on top. While climbing the bleacher stairs, I could see Foam Pandas looking at us, and they looked fumed. This made me happy.

Brandy's POV

I felt pumped after finishing the Third Stage. The stage finished quickly today, and we got to leave around lunch time. I thought I would get some lunch at the cafeteria with the rest of the girls, but Leo stopped me.
"It's lunch time, and I could use someone to be my company." He insisted. I didn't know how to refuse him.
"Okay." I said.
We walked out of school grounds, and he asked me "What do ya wanna eat." I just shrugged. He pondered for a moment.
"I know come on." He beamed and asked for my hand. I felt unsure about this, but I took his hand. Then I saw him use his teleporter, and we were in a totally different area. Snow is everywhere, and I was glad that I took my jacket. We were on a street that was surrounded with four story high buildings. They looked pretty old, but also beautiful.
"Follow me." I heard Leo say, as he lead me through the streets. We ended up at a place called Sullivan's. Leo ordered some food, and we got a table by the window.
"So where are we?" I muttered.
"Oh! Sorry forgot to tell you where we are, I got carried away. We're in south Boston, and this is one of the best fast food places in Boston." He said.
"Ohhh, that's cool." I acknowledged. I noticed something about Leo, that I never saw in him when we're with the rest of the group. He is looks more interested and happy. I smiled for a moment, when I realized it. He gave me a puzzled look.
''What is it?" He asked.
"It's nothing." I rubbed him off.
"Oh, come on tell me. I saw you smirking for no reason. You must have thought of something." He kept asking.
"It's just that you seem more happy, and actually interested." I mumbled. I didn't want him to think that I'm weird. Because really I don't know him that well.
He seemed to think about what I said, for a while. "It's because you're with me." He said.
