Lisa quickly covered Jisoo's mouth, her eyes widening at the realization of what everyone just heard.
"What?" Lisa nervously chuckled, still keeping Jisoo's mouth covered.
"What?" Jennie murmured, her gaze darkening as she looked at you with sharp eyes.
"W...what?" You stuttered, fear creeping into your voice as you met Jennie's intense gaze.
Jennie then shifted her gaze to Rosé, raising an eyebrow and giving her a cold stare.
Rosé, ever the picture of calmness, smiled serenely. "What?"
You felt like you were about to faint. This night was spiraling out of control. You were utterly screwed.
Jennie's eyes blazed with anger as she interrogated, her voice laced with a burning intensity. It was clear that this was no longer a simple question.
Uh-oh. This was not going well.
Rosé, ever the peacemaker, flashed an innocent smile, attempting to soothe Jennie's rising temper. "Jisoo had a bit too much to drink. She got things all mixed up, so let's not take her too seriously."
Jisoo glared at Rosé, swatting Lisa's hand away from her mouth. "Who are you calling drunk?! I was there when-"
Lisa promptly covered Jisoo's mouth once again, effectively silencing her.
"I think it's time for us to head to our rooms now, don't you think?" she smoothly interjected, brushing off Jisoo's protests.
Standing up, you reached out your hand to Jennie, who looked at you hesitantly, as if weighing the trust she should place in you.
After a few intense moments of eye contact, she reached forward, her fingers intertwining with yours.
You helped her to her feet, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.
"Let's rest. We'll head to our room first. Goodnight, everyone," you announced, a gentle smile on your face.
Rosé nodded, bidding everyone else a goodnight.
As you led Jennie towards your room and closed the door behind you, she immediately let go of your hand, storming off to the far side of the room before flopping onto the bed.
Letting out a sigh, you sat down beside her and pulled her into your embrace.
She turned her face towards you, her voice seething with fury.
"What the hell was that?" she hissed, her eyes locking onto yours.
You flinched, caught off guard by her reaction. "Please don't be mad. Jisoo was drunk and confused. Let's forget everything that happened tonight and just enjoy our time together," you pleaded, your thumbs gently caressing her cheeks.
"Oh, please. As if it's something easy to forget," Jennie sneered, her tone accusing.
Guilt washed over you, and your heart sank. "Listen, it was just a mistake. Rosé and I are only friends. There's nothing more to it. There never was anything between us. So please, just calm down," you reassured her, your voice filled with calm determination.
Her expression softened, and she wrapped her arms around your waist. "Fine," she reluctantly replied.
Relieved, you let yourself relax into her touch, closing your eyes and cherishing every moment spent with Jennie.
She rested her chin on your chest, humming softly as her thumb traced gentle circles against your abdomen.
"How... how are you feeling now?" She whispered, "No more panick attacks?"
