Jennie's POV
Lying in bed, my gaze wandered aimlessly, fixated on the ceiling. I left Y/N downstairs, and I found myself eagerly awaiting her presence. All I wanted was the comfort and reassurance that only she could provide - the kind of love that knew no bounds.
But as the moments ticked by, I realized that Y/N hadn't come back up. No one had chased after me, seeking solace in my embrace. The emptiness grew within me, gnawing at my core. It was as if my body itself ached from the mere thought of Y/N leaving me for good, waves of agony coursing through my veins.
I can't...
Clutching the sheets tightly against my chest, I desperately tried to block out the images that haunted my mind whenever I closed my eyes. They played like a broken record, showing Rosé and Y/N together, wrapped in the embrace of a couple.
Was I overthinking things?
Finally, unable to bear the torment any longer, I made up my mind. I had to go downstairs and talk to Y/N. Maybe it would help me make sense of what had transpired earlier in the day.
As I made my way to the kitchen, I was surprised to find Rosé sitting at the island, sipping on a glass of water. The mansion had fallen eerily quiet, and I couldn't help but avoid her gaze.
"Where's Y/N?" I asked, a hint of surprise in my voice. The tension in the air was palpable.
Rosé set her glass down slowly, her actions deliberate. "She's with Jisoo. They went somewhere, and I'm not sure why and where..." Her words hung in the air, a heavy silence following her statement. Rising to her feet, she continued, "And if you're so eager to talk to her, maybe you should ask her yourself instead of interrogating me."
She brushed past me, the sound of her shoes echoing loudly against the wooden floor. I clenched my fists, turning around to call out to her, "Rosé."
She halted, her steps freezing before she turned to face me. "What? Do you need something?" Irritation and annoyance seeped into her voice, her fists clenched tightly on the edge of the counter.
My breathing grew heavy, a knot forming in my throat. It took a few moments before I could gather the strength to speak, the words tumbling out in a choked whisper, "Why do you seem angry with me lately? Is there something going on between you and Y/N? It feels like the whole world is keeping secrets from me."
Surprised, Rosé lowered her arms, her expression softening. "You should ask Y/N about this, Jennie. It's best if you hear it from her directly, so that none of us get into trouble."
"What do you mean? Why does everyone keep avoiding my questions?" I asked, my voice trembling, tears threatening to spill over. "I know I might not be part of your friendship circle, but can you at least give me the benefit of the doubt and not make me feel foolish?"
Rosé looked away, unable to answer. I took a step closer, staring intently into her eyes, searching for any shred of truth.
"Is that it? Are you all... toying with my emotions?" My fist shook with the weight of my emotions, my struggle to keep them in check becoming almost unbearable.
As much as I loathed myself for asking these questions, I couldn't continue to endure this silence. I needed answers.
"Please, just... stay away from Y/N when we go to Korea." Our eyes locked, Rosé's shock evident as she processed my request.
"Why on earth would I listen to your instructions?" Rosé fired back, her voice trembling with defiance. But in an instant, her gaze dropped, her eyes fixed on the floor. "Don't bring this up again, or you'll regret it." She lifted her head to meet my eyes, her stare daring me to challenge her.
