You found yourself caught in the middle of a culinary battleground, mixing the two bowls like a peacemaker trying to keep the peace between two rival gangs.
Your stomach groaned in protest as you stared down at the soup bowl, filled to the brim with both dishes.
They were culinary masterpieces, alright, but with so many ingredients piled up, it felt like a chokehold waiting to happen.
You finished everything and looked up at Jennie and Rosé with a grateful smile. "Thanks, guys, for nursing me back to health."
A brief silence filled the air before they burst into laughter.
You furrowed your brows. "What's so funny?"
"Because...you're just so darn cute," Rosé smirked.
You scowled at her, mentally plotting to wipe that angelic smugness right off her face.
Unable to bear the awkwardness, you stood up, clutching your plate and bowl, and made your way to the kitchen.
But just as you were about to pass through, you spotted your girlfriend perched at the island, wearing a frown that could rival a grumpy cat.
You let out a soft sigh; it seemed like one of those days for her.
As you crossed the kitchen, she glanced up at you briefly. Her shoulders slumped, and she turned away.
Tapping her shoulders and mouthing the words, "What's wrong, Jennie?" you hoped to break through her barrier.
She shook her head and muttered, "I've got nothing to say to you."
With a dramatic, overly-dramatic sigh that could rival those in a K-drama, you wrapped your arms around Jennie from behind, squeezing her middle like a possessive koala.
You buried your face in the crook of her neck, inhaling deeply, taking in her intoxicating scent.
Ah, she smelled like a magical blend of flowers and happiness.
Your heart fluttered with the joy of having her in your arms, but that fluttering feeling quickly dissipated when she pulled away.
"I can't believe you," she muttered, her eyes shooting daggers in your direction. "How could you eat something that I didn't cook? I feel so betrayed."
Rosé, being the ever-so-helpful friend, chimed in with annoyance dripping from her voice. "Oh come on, she devoured every last bit of your food before. Why the sudden territorial display? Are you always this possessive and controlling? And how does it taste so different from yours?"
You winced, guilt weighing heavy on your shoulders as you stared at the floor in shame.
Seeing them fight over you like this was unbearable.
If only there was a way to stop the verbal warfare and bring peace to the land of your relationship.
Then, out of nowhere, Lisa decided to slam her hand on the table, not once, but multiple times, causing the entire group to look at her like she had lost her marbles. And honestly, who could blame them?
You huffed in exasperation, unable to resist calling her out on her antics. "Seriously, Lisa? Do you need to give the table a good pounding?"
"Sorry," she sheepishly apologized, but a mischievous grin tugged at her lips.
She turned to Rosé and Jennie, and whispered loudly enough for Jennie to hear, "But seriously, guys, how can you spoil this big baby so much? She doesn't deserve both of your affections. Look at her face, shamelessly devouring all of your cooking without even sharing a crumb with me and Jisoo!"
