Part 14: the one where no ones ready

Tonight was Ross' palaeontology conference and we were all invited to watch him do his speech as he was very excited. So of course I'm going to go and cheer my boyfriend on,honestly what would he do without me?

I was getting ready at Monica and Rachel's because I came here straight from work,I had bought multiple outfits with me because I was so stuck on what to wear like I haven't known any people to go to one of these.
Ross walked in looking all dapper in his new tux.
"Hey you guys ready? We have about a half hour before we have to leave!"
"Hey,you look very handsome"I said kissing him.
"Hi"
"Are you almost done? I see the hairs done,the makeups done so you just have to get dressed which will take I'm guessing about 5 minutes?"
"Mhm,just after I choose my outfit!" I tell him whilst walking to the bedroom.
"You guys,Joey , chandler you gonna go get dressed or?"
"Yeah will soon Ross"
"Okay but hurry because we are a little short on time you know."
"Promise we will be ready to leave when its time"
"Okay you better be"
Phoebe walks in with a really nice long yellow dress and all three of them look at her.
"You look amazing pheebs" Joey says.
"Thanks"
"See this is the look of a person who is ready to go."
Ross gestures in phoebe's direction.

"Hey you guys?" I ask. "Is the outfit a palaeontologists girlfriend would wear?"
"I don't know your probably the first one" phoebe jokes.
"You know what actually I don't like this outfit it's the one that makes my calves look fat."
I walked back into the room.

Chandler was walking out of the bathroom "all right I took the quiz and it looks like I do put my career before men" he joked
"Your in my seat" chandler told Joey
"How is this your seat?"
"Because I was sitting there"
"But then you left"
"Well, it's not like I went to Spain. I went to the bathroom, you knew I was coming back."
"What's the big deal, sit somewhere else"
"The big deal is I was sitting there last, so, that's my seat."
"Well, actually the last place you were sitting was in there" he tells chandler pointing to the bathroom.

"You guys, you know what, you know what, it doesn't matter, because you both have to go get dressed before the big vein in my head pops. So.." ross interrupts

" all right, Ross, I just have to do one thing, really quickly, it's not a big deal. GET UP!!"

Monica walked into the apartment ,she had just recently broken up with her boyfriend Richard.
"Hi,oh phoebe you look great!"

"I know right!" Phoebe answers.
"Oo are you gonna do magic?" Monica asks ross.

"That's, that's funny. Change!"

"Hang on a second,I just got here"

"Look, I don't care it starts at eight, we can't be late."

"Has somebody been drinking my fat?" Monica asks and Joey and chandler just look at  each other .

"All right you can have the chair!" Joey says "oh,oh would you look at that!" He says holding up crossed fingers.

"You know what, okay, fine. Don't get up, you just sit right there. I just hope, you don't mind, you know, my hand right here. Oop, not touching, can't get mad! Not touching can't get mad! Not touching can't get mad" Joey flung hummus all over phoebe's dress.

"Oh,oh you rotten boys!"

"Oh thank god! Rachel your ready!" Ross shouts as Rachel walks in the room!

"Yes I am!"

I walked back in to see if this was a better choice "Is this a little too... Pheebs, what happened?"

"Hummus! I got hummus!"

"Ooooh! Honey, well we'll find you something. Do you wanna wear my black jacket?" Rachel offered

"That won't go with this dress though." I told them

"No, you're right. Well, we'll find something. Let's just get you out of that. Come on pheebs" rach insists

"No, no, no, no, no, no, not out of that, not out of clothes."

"Pheebs, you go with Monica and try on her green dress. If that doesn't work, you can wear my gray silk one. Oh, gosh, what am I wearing?!" I say

"You don't, you don't know what your wearing?" Ross says with a shocked expression

"Well, hon-ey. I'm just trying to look nice for your big night."

"Yeah, which, which we have to leave for in exactly twelve minutes. All right, come on, I'll just pick something out for you."

"All right, you will notice that I am fully dressed. I, in turn, have noticed that you are not. So in the words of A. A. Milne, "Get out of my chair, dillhole!" Chandler ordered still trying to have the chair.

"Look, I'm sorry, I thought it looked pretty." Ross told me as we walked back into the living room.

"Ross, that was a Halloween costume, unless you would like me to go to this thing as Little Bo Peep."

"Look, I didn't recognize it without that inflatable sheep."

"Yeah, which, by the way Chandler, I would like back one of these days."

Joey and chandler were now fully dressed and ready,phoebe had found a nice Christmas ribbon to go with it.

"Okay, hey, that's okay with me. Two down and I have exactly twelve minutes.... Wha, my watch stopped. My watch. Okay, see, the, the dinosaur tail isn't going around any more. What time is it? It's 7:33, I have seven minutes. I have seven minutes!!"

I run out of the room quickly "Okay, Pheebs, quick, what shoes should I wear? The black or the purple?"

"Just, just, just pick one!" Yeah I think Ross was getting angry now.
