Chapter 16-the one where ross and y/n take a break

Today was mine and Ross' little anniversary and we were both so excited,we planned to have a dinner together after work.
However I had to stay behind as a lot had come up at work meaning I couldn't really leave until it was all sorted,like I could be here all night until early hours in the morning.
"Yes,sir hi this is y/n from bibs clothing."
Then Ross walked in with some food.
"Hi"
"Oh uh ross what are you doing here? I told you I was busy and we couldn't hang out"
"I just decided to bring our dinner here to us if your so busy."

"Listen Ross I mean it I can't stop until this is done." I tell him serious whilst looking through some files.

"What? You can't even take a little break"

"No,ross there's too much for me to do to even think about anything else right now. So please just go home and I'll see you when I'm back."

"Um,okay."

He then proceeded to light the candle for it to fall over
"Omg ROSS what are you doing I told you to.go.home"

"But-but"

"JUST GO PLEASE I TOLD YOU IM BUSY OKAY I LOVE YOU BUT I CANT STOP RIGHT NOW"

Then he left.

After a long while I finally finished work and arrived home where Ross was sitting on the couch eating our dinner.

"Hey."
"Mm hi"

"Look about earlier-"

"No-no it's fine I completely understand you were stressed."

I threw my stuff down aggressively "I was actually gonna give you the chance to apologise to me"

" For what? For letting you throw me out of your office?"

" You had no right coming down to my office Ross. You do not bring a picnic basket to somebody's work!"

"Oh yeah well excuse me for wanting to be with my girlfriend on our anniversary."

"But I kept telling you I had no time!"

"Yeah, well you never have the time. I mean, I don't feel like I even have a girlfriend anymore y/n"

"What do you want me to do? Quit my job so you can feel like you have a girlfriend?"

"No but it would be nice if you finally realised ITS JUST A JOB"

"JUST A JOB?"

"Yes"

"Ross do you realise this is the first time in my life I'm doing something I actually care about. This is the first time in my life I'm really enjoying my job as much as I am after this movie finished! If you don't get that..."

"No I get that but I'm sick of having a relationship with your answering machine okay! I don't know what to do."

"Well me either!"

"Is this about Marc?" He really had the audacity to ask me that didn't he.

"Oh my god" I say shocked

"Okay no it's not"

"I can't keep having the same fight with you over and over Ross! Your making it too hard!"

"Me? I'm making it hard? What do you want me to do?"

"I-I don't know ughhh look maybe we should just take a break!"

"Okay, okay, fine, you're right. Let's ah, let's take a break, let's cool off, okay, let's get some frozen yogart, or something.." he says whilst putting his coat on and opening the door.

"No,ross I mean a break from us."

Then he just looked at me and slammed the door.
