Chapter 9-the one where ross finds out

Tonight I was getting ready for a date that Monica had set me up with so that I could try and get over the fact I'm in love with someone who I can't really have right now. Oh and Ross just announced he is getting a cat with Julie.
I really wanted to try and make a good impression tonight because I haven't been on a date with a guy in forever like I mean forever.

It was around 6:53 and my date was due to pick me up at 7,the thing is I hardly know anything about this dude all I know is that his name is Steven and that he works with Monica at the restaurant. This was technically a blind date. I was just putting my heels on and getting my bag ready until I heard a knock at the door,it's Steven!
"Hey you must be y/n"
"Steven I'm guessing?" I say with a confused look.
"Yeah" he laughed
"Well nice to meet you" I say whilst shaking his hand.
Soon enough we made it to the restaurant and god was it beautiful honestly I could live here it was so gorgeous.
Later on,our food came and I tucked in straight away and we were having a nice conversation. He bought up one of his exes and how he ended up getting closure for himself and I thought that was such a good thing for him you know he seems like a nice guy.

But,then I realised that's what i needed! I need closure!
"You know what,you just gave me an idea on how I could get closure."
"I did? Are you sure it's a good idea?"
"Mhm" I replied whilst grabbing my phone to call Ross.
"Ross, Hi, it's y/n. I'm just calling to say that ,um, everything's fine and I'm really happy for you and your cat who, by the way, I think you should name Michael. And, you know,see there I'm thinking of names so obviously, I am over you. I am over you and that, my friend, is what they call closure."
There it was,what I needed all along,however as you could tell I was a little drunk so I kinda had no idea what I was thinking to call him but its whatever I guess.
I looked to the guy behind me who was just staring at me and said "you see that?I just got closure!"

It was the next morning and I was just taking some aspirin because my head was pounding,you have no idea how much wine I had last night at that dinner.
Ross walked in "hey whatcha doin? Oh and how was the date?"
"Umm,I think there was a restaurant and some wine"
I was kinda looking at him weird because I thought I remembered something but I didn't quite place what it was.
"Oh,hey could I use your answering machine to check some voicemails? I was at Julie's all last night so i didn't have the chance to check them."
"Oh yeah go ahead" I said walking into my room.
"Hey y/n I got a message from you and who's Steven?"
Just  in that second I appeared in the door frame knowing what was to come.
"Oh god,no Ross hang up." I jump onto his back to try and grab the phone from his hand as soon as I could,but it was too late.
"Your over me? When were you under me?"

"Ohh, OK, OK, OK, well, basically, lately, I've uh, I've uh, sort of had feelings for you."
"You've had feelings for me?"
"Yeah what so? You had feelings for me first"
"Woah huh you know about my-my I mean you know I had..."
"Chandler told me"
"Chandler? What w-when"
"When you were in china...meeting Julie"

"Julie. Julie. That. Oh God. Julie, right. OK, I need to lie down. No ya know, I'm gonna stand. I'm gonna stand, I'm gonna walk, I'm walking and I am standing. OK so you uh, and now wha... and now, now, now you're over me?"

"Are you over me?"
After a moment of awkward silence we hear a buzz at the door.
"Uh I think Julie's here."
"So your going?"
"Well yeah okay uh I have a girlfriend and I think I have a cab waiting and I've gotta go get a cat."
"Right yeah okay bye"

Later on I was closing central perk because Rachel left me here to do it for some reason,like I don't even work here but it is what it is.

Soon enough I see Ross walk in.
"So uh I didn't get a cat"
"Oh um cool."
"No, no it's not cool okay it's very, very not cool. In fact it's actually 100 percent completely opposite of cool."

"Okay Ross I think I got it."
"You had no right to tell me you ever had feelings for me"

"Hey, I was doing great before I found out about you. You think it's easy for me to see you with Julie"

"Then you should have said something before I met her."

"I didn't even know then and how come you never said anything to me!"

"There was never a good time."

"Right you, you only had a year. We only hung out every night. I mean Ross we got closer than ever" " like do you even have a point?" At this point I was so confused and angry with him.

"The point is I-I don't need this right now ok. It, it's too late, I'm with somebody else, I'm happy. This ship has sailed."

"Yeah what're you saying you just sort of put away feelings or whatever the hell it was you felt for me?"

"Hey I've been doing it for quite a while now so I've gotten pretty good at it."

"Alright you go ahead and do that Ross."
"Fine."
"Cos i don't need your stupid ship.
"Good"
"Good"
I got up and yelled at him "you know what now I have closure"
