I walked out of the doors of the hospital, feeling no hope. Where were they? Thoughts of them still in danger swirled through my mind like a whirlpool, they couldn't have been, right?
I sat back in the car, taking in Joe's soft scent and beginning to cry. I wish he was here. I began to regret leaving him behind;I needed someone to comfort me in times like this.
I decided on my last trip;home.
I was nervous as I pulled up outside. A police officer came and tapped on my window.
I stepped out of the car.
"Little un, you can't stop here, this is a danger zone. There has been an accident here." He talked to me as if I was six years old.
"I know." I stated.
I walked past him and ran round the back, entering my home. It felt weird to call it that, since I hadn't been here for just under two weeks. I heard shouts from the police officers but I chose to ignore them. I opened the door and stepped inside, to find the whole kitchen destroyed;family photos smashed, utensils covering the floor, bottles of alcohol scattered. I gingerly stepped over them and entered the living room. And sat down in the corner of the room was the one person I didn't want to see at that moment.
"I told you never to come back." my dad scowled, standing up.
"I kno-" I was cut off by the sound of screaming coming from upstairs.
"Ellie!! Is that you?" I escaped my father's glare and ran to the patio door leading upstairs.
But my dad was too quick.
He had his foot out in seconds and he tripped me, sending me flying into the door. I slumped against the door, my head spinning, I couldn't think straight. He came and stood by me.
"You think you can get away with this that easily?" He chuckled.
"Beck-!" I tried to shout.
"Shush now." he held a hand over my mouth and it made me shut up.
"You see this?" He drew a small knife out of his back pocket slowly. He put it against my neck, "this COULD hurt you. But I'm not going to let this get any where nearer to you. That's if you listen and don't say a word. Is that clear?"
I sat with my head spinning. I had never been threatened before.
"Why Dad?" I whispered.
"Why what?" He began to push the knife gently into my neck. It didn't hurt. Yet.
"Why did you hurt them?" I asked quietly.
He pushed it further against me, "didn't I tell you to keep quiet?" He laughed.
"Dad, my friend Joe is waiting outside. I need to go." I began to stand up and at that point, Dad slid the knife against my neck, causing a small cut, not so big that I would pass out because of blood loss. I gasped.
"Tell him to go." My dad ordered.
"Should I call him?" I knew exactly what I needed to do.
"Yes."
I called Joe. he picked up straight away.
"Joe?"
"Yes Ellie?"
"You should go home. I might be here at Dad's for a while."
"What? Ellie...what's happ-"
"Oh and buy some doughnuts on your way home."
"Aha. Okay. See you later. Love you."
"Love yo-" my dad hung up on him, and threw my phone to the other side of the room. He smiled.
"Ellie!! Help us!" Evie cried, drawing the attention of the police outside.
They banged on the door.
"If you do not open this door in fifteen seconds, we will break it down." The police officer's voice was heard through the window. My dad cursed.
"Stand up." He told me. My dad had his hand on the knife next to my neck and he dragged me toward the stairs.
I walked up next to him, he took me to the room where he was keeping Evie and Becki. They were locked in the bathroom together, and that's where they were staying.
My dad shoved me on the bed, keeping his hand on my chest while he yelled at the two girls.
"Shut the hell up." He scoffed and paid his attention to me.
"What do we do with you, my princess?" He smiled, holding the knife to my neck, his hand in his back pocket. I stammered.
"Don't hurt me, Dad, please." I pleaded.
I saw ideas popping into his he'd and he smiled, "well..."
I heard a honk outside.
"Joe!!" I tried to twist out of my father's grasp and run out of the door but he was too quick. He reached into his back pocket and pulled out a silver gun, loaded with bullets. He aimed for my back and shot. A perfect shot.
