Chapter 33 - Caspar.

(Caspar's POV)
They were kissing? After Joe killed Ellie's mum? What the hell is wrong with her?
I had a plan.
I took a deep breath and opened the door to the ward.
"What do you want?" Joe snapped.
"I came to apologise. I'm sorry Joe, I'm glad you two are happy." I said quietly, holding back a smirk.
"Mhm." Joe leaned over to Ellie and whispered something in her ear. She looked doubtful for a second, then nodded.
Joe stood up. He held out his hand reluctantly.
"Friends?" He offered.
It was the most I was ever going to get.
"Friends." I shook his hand, and he pulled me into an awkward hug.
"Hello!" Called the nurse, "are you Eleanor White?" She turned to Ellie.
"We brought your father to the hospital ten minutes after we could get a grip on what happened. He has suffered severe burns, and I'm afraid, he didn't make it."
Tears welled up in Ellie's eyes.
"Thankyou." Joe smiled, signalling for some alone time. She understood, and left the room.
Ellie wept against Joe's chest.
"There there." Joe whispered, smoothing her hair off her forehead.
They both sat there in silence, they emotions taking over our words. I was stood at the foot of the bed, until I decided to call Zalfie.
I whispered something to Joe before going back to the waiting room.
"Zoe?" I said.
"Caspar? Is everything okay?" She sounded worried.
"No, not really. Can you get to the hospital in 5?" I told her truthfully.
"Yeah sure, I'll see you later." Zoe hung up and I slumped in the chair, feeling like crying for some reason.
Why was I so upset? It's not like I cared about that girl? She took away the love of my life!

Soon enough, Zoe and Alfie arrived.
"Where is she?" Alfie shouted.
"Dude, calm it, she's in room 13 with Joe, go down the corridor and turn left."
I instructed him, and he thanked me.
"Zoe, you wait here with Cas." Alfie kissed her cheek swiftly and began to make his way down the corridor.
"What's happened Caspar?" Zoe sat down and put her tiny hand on mine.
"Her dad died in the accident." I stated.
"Oh Cas! I'm so sorry!"
"Don't be sorry for me, be sorry for Joe and Ellie. I don't even care." I slumped further into my chair.
"Are you alright?" She asked.
I smiled as best as I could, "never been better."
