Scars of Belief

Karen sighed as she got Holly into her car seat. She knew what they were about to do was right but it didn't make it easier in her heart.

Henry got in the back seat while Karen took the wheel and Ted settled himself into the passenger side.

After another deep breath, Karen put her hands on the wheel and headed to the hospital.

As they got closer Henry started to panic until he felt a small hand on his and heard "Don't worry Uncle Henry Holly is right here for you".

Karen smiled as she parked and took one more deep breath and opened the car door.

Henry got Holly out and was surprised when she wanted him to carry her but he did and the four of them headed up to Billy's room.

As they approached they heard "that's him" come from outside the room and that's when Karen saw El standing there with a look of disbelief on her face.

"El this is my brother Henry the man you're thinking of must be his twin Vincent. Vincent liked to use Henry's name to make trouble for him" Karen said calmly as Holly tightened her grip around Henry's neck and stuck her tongue out at El.

El didn't move until Dustin softly took her hand and guided her back into the room assuring her that Mike's mom wouldn't have brought him if he was dangerous.

"Hi Henry" Billy said from his bed, surprising everyone but Henry.

"Hey kiddo," Henry said, smiling.

Both Eddie and Wayne gave Henry a deadly look and didn't move until Billy said "neither of you have anything to worry about".

"Can we talk out in the waiting room Wayne?" Karen asked as she simultaneously pried Holly off of Henry's neck and handed her to Nancy and said "watch your sister".

Without waiting for a reply Karen motioned for Ted, Henry and Wayne to follow her out.

When the three of them got out of earshot Karen said "we are adults here. Henry didn't want to leave Billy and no one is taking him from you Wayne. I am sure Henry is glad that someone cares as much for Billy as he does".

Wayne and Henry looked at each other and nodded in a silent agreement though Ted did notice that each of them had a reddish tint to their cheeks and smiled. He loved the beginning of a love story.

Heading back inside they all couldn't help but smile when they saw Holly curled up next to Billy fast asleep.

"So where do we start?" Billy asked as he tried hard not to move so he wouldn't wake up Holly.

This time Ted stepped forward "it's this simple, Brenner who is Karen, Henry and Vincent's father  kidnapped Henry and Billy to test their powers against Vincent's, Henry's twin brother.

One night Neil, who worked with Brenner took Billy and drugged him making him forget his real parents.

Karen here is Henry and Vincent's sister and her birth name is Alice.

The testing Brenner did on El and the other kids was to try and enhance Vincent and his own powers. Things backfired, Vincent went insane and killed most of the test subjects and when El pushed him through the portal he went to the safe place he had already created and using his magic became a more evil being that is now trying to escape.

That is the spark notes version but will do for now since Billy needs rest.

I will explain how I know everything when the time is right" Ted said flashing El and Mike a look that made both bite their tongues.

"He's right Billy, You need to get some rest so you can get better," Steve said softly, placing a hand on Billy's Arm.

Out of nowhere, Henry grabbed both of their wrists and pulled them so he could see better and gasped.

Letting go Henry backed up and said "now I understand. You must be Steve Harrington. Your father is one of my father's biggest financial backers.

Not only that but you and Billy have the number 01 on your wrists. You were both my father's first project.

No no no this wasn't supposed to happen" he finished and left the room in a hurry leaving everyone confused.

Both boys looked at their wrists and both were shocked to see in black numbers a 01.

"El has one that says 011" Max said as she tried to wrap everything she just heard around her brain.

Karen silently slipped out as the discussion continued and searched out her brother who was in the garden just sitting and staring off into the distance.

"A penny for your thoughts," Karen said softly.

Henry looked at her and said "Those two are either going to save the world or destroy it.

Neil took Billy because they had to separate them. Together their powers are insane. They could destroy a small building with just a thought and dad couldn't control them so he separated them making sure their memories were locked away and in different zip codes.

They found their way back to each other. My guess is Billy's powers persuaded Neil to move to Hawkins on their own.

Now that they are awakening memories, their powers will reconnect as well".

Karen placed an arm around her brother and said "They have something they didn't have then, people who love them".

Henry looked at her and nodded. The two of them sat and watched as the sun set outside praying that this was the end of the past and a bridge to a new beginning.
