Chapter 1: Snow

It was a very windy day. Snow was outside in a forest, following the wind. She kept going deeper and deeper into the forest, until she heard screams of terror and pain. She ran forward until she was in an open stretch of land. It looked like a camp for cats. She stopped and looked around, eyes wide with terror. There were badgers everywhere, swiping their huge paws at cats. Then she heard a faint voice. "You must save them." "How?!" Snow meowed. All she could hear were cats screaming in pain. Snow woke with start, panting. "What was that?" She thought to herself. She got out of her bed and went to get some water. She saw that it was empty, same with her food bowl. "Again," she meowed. She walked all around her house folks house until she found one of her house folk. "Can you put water and food in my bowls please," she pleaded. Her house folk scowled and her and threw outside. "I just wanted some water!" She growled. She jumped up the fence and looked out into the forest. "Hey snow," her friend said, running along the fence towards her. "Hello Spots" she meowed. "Did your house folk kick you out again?" meowed Spots. "Yeah, and I only asked for food and water this time!"
"Wow, my house folk would never do that. Maybe you should live with me? You know, abandon your house folk. Mine would take better care of you," meowed Spots. "No thanks. Even though they don't take good care of me I can't abandon them. It's really hard to imagine leaving them. How can I take care of myself without them?" Both Spots and Snow stared out into the distance. " I had a dream last night"
"What about"
" I was walking in the forest, following the wind. Then I heard screams of terror and pain. I ran faster and faster until I came to an open stretch of land. I think it was a camp for cats. There badgers everywhere, swiping their huge paws at the cats. Then I heard this faint voice saying "You must save them." I asked how but there was no reply, just screams of pain. Then I woke up."
"That must of been a scary nightmare," meowed Spots. "I don't think it was a nightmare. I think it was a sign or something." "Well, whatever you do, don't go in the forest. You could get killed by a badger or something"
"Well, I have to go into the forest, if I don't want to starve to death," meowed Snow
"Good luck, then. See you later" Spots ran back to his house folks garden, and snow jumped down to go to the forest. Once she got several fox lengths into the forest she started stalking, listening for the sound of prey. She heard scuffling by a tree. She crept over there, and saw a mouse. She pounced, and killed the mouse in an instant. She quickly buried the mouse and kept going forth. She heard another scuffling sound and crept up on. She pounce on it, then snapped its neck. She went back to where she buried her other mouse. She unburied it and started eating. She finishing eating and licked her lips. She started to head back when she heard a voice in the wind. "Follow the wind" it said. Snow soon began to followed the wind. She kept following it until she came to a weird looking fern bush. "Go through the fern" the wind said. She went through the ferns until she bumped into a cat. "Who goes there?"
