Snow woke up to her house folk scowling at her. Soon she was thrown outside again. "I'm so glad I'm leaving today." She looked up at the sky and saw that it was almost sun high. "At least I can hunt real quick," Snow thought to herself. She started to walk out into the forest when she heard a strange growl. She looked left and right but saw nothing. She turned around and she stood face-to-face with a badger. She was frozen with fear for a few heartbeats, then she slowly started to back up, turned around, and ran as fast as she could towards the camp. The badger started chasing her right away. "I can't outrun this badger, I need to turn around and face it," thought Snow. She turned around and jumped at the badgers throat. She was quickly shaken off. She ran past the badger, scratching its side on the way. The badger struck his paw at Snow but missed. Snow climbed up a tree and jumped on the badgers back, biting it on the back of its neck. The badger shook her off and hit her with its giant paw, slamming her up against a tree. Snow got up several heart beats later and jumped at the badgers throat, clawing it open. The badger fell, and became limp. "Well done." "T-thank you" meowed Snow. "Have you decided if your going to join or not?"meowed Lightstar. "Y-yes. I want to join," meowed Snow. "Follow me, then."
Snow followed Lightstar to the camp, limping. Lightstar led her into the camp, and immediately took her to Appletree. "What happened to her?!" "She got in a fight with a badger on her way here. I heard growling several fox lengths ahead of me. I came just in time to see her fight and take its life. She was badly injured though. It threw her against a tree." "I got just the remedy," meowed Appletree. She grabbed comfrey root, golden rod, horsetail, and poppy seeds. "I need an apprentice to grab Bindweed, cobwebs, and two sticks," meowed Appletree. "Orangepaw, I need you to grab Bindweed, cobwebs, and two sticks. Take Longwhisker with you." Appletree chewed the comfrey root, golden rod and horsetail together. She applied it to Snows back leg. Then, she grabbed some poppyseed and laid them in front of Snow. "Eat these, it will ease the pain and make you sleep," meowed Appletree. Snow ate the poppy seeds and soon fell asleep.
Snow woke up in the middle of the night. She was in total darkness. She saw a dim light at the end of the cave. She got up to go towards and saw that she couldn't bend her right back leg. She limped towards the dim light anyway. She got to it and went through it. She was outside in the camp. She looked around and saw that no one was awake, but she did see a pile of food. She went towards it and picked out a plump mouse. She started to eat it when she was startled by a voice behind her. "I see your awake." Snow turned around and saw it was Lightstar. "Y-yes, I was just out here to get something to eat. I haven't eaten all day," meowed Snow. "Well, you deserve it. Go ahead and eat your share." Lightstar grabbed a vole and started eating with her. After they had their meal they went back to their dens.
Snow woke up the next day to see a a couple of cats looking at her. She noticed them right away. It was Badgerjaw and Rosepetal! She looked around to see another cat lying on the floor, in a tight ball. "Here, eat these. It will make your belly ache go away." Without a word the cat ate the berries. "When and what did you eat," asked Appletree. "I-I ate some vole not too long ago." "Lightstar!" Snow thought. "Someone needs to check on Lightstar. I woke up in the middle of the night and went to eat. Lightstar came out and ate a vole. She could be in terrible pain right now," meowed Lightstar. "Badgerjaw, stay and here and keep an eye on Brightpelt. Rosepetal and Snow, come with me. You can walk on your leg a little to keep it from healing wrong."
