It's been a moon and a half since Snow's injury. Appletree came to over to her and sniffed her leg. "I think it's healed. I'm going to take off the sticks and I want you to walk on it," meowed Appletree. She took of the sticks and Snow got up. She started to walk on her back leg, but almost fell. She tried again and and she walked normally, although it was a little stiff. "How does it feel?" asked Appletree. "It feels a little stiff but it doesn't hurt at all." "Good, you should get your apprentice name tomorrow. I'll tell Lightstar. Appletree walked out of her den. Snow laid back down on her moss. She was half asleep when she heard someone walking in. She raised her head and saw Rosepetal. She's been visiting her almost everyday since her injury. "I see your leg is better," Rosepetal meowed. "Yes, it is. Since it's healed I get to be an apprentice tomorrow!" "That's good to hear," Rosepetal meowed. Rosepetal walked towards Snow and laid down next to her. She gave her ear a swift lick. Rosepetal and Snow have been really close friends since her injury.
Appletree came back in her den. "Good news, Snow. You will be assigned your new mentor today, at sundown." Snow and Rosepetal looked at eachother in excitement. "Can I show her around camp, Appletree?" "Yes, you can. But make sure Snow doesn't do any ruff housing. We don't want her to injure her leg again," meowed Appletree.
Rosepetal led Snow out of the medicine cat den, and into the camp. She started walking towards Lightstars den first, since it was the closest. "This is the high rock. Also known as the leaders den," Rosepetal meowed. Then they started to walk torwards a fallen tree. It was hallowed out and broken in half. It looked like it had been burnt. Only half of the fallen tree remained. "This is the elders den. These cats are too old to be a warrior, so they rest here. They're respected and tell stories of the grateful fights that they fought in, or terrible times to the kits." Then she started walking towards a fern bush. "This is the nursery. This is where kits are born and nursed. Queens will rest in here when their expecting kits and another month after their kits are apprenticed," meowed Rosepetal. "How old do they have to be in order to be apprenticed?" asked Snow. "They have to be six moons before they're apprenticed."
She turned right and walked towards another bush. "This is the Warriors den. This is where the Warriors sleep." she turned right and walked to a bush near the medicine cats den. "This is the Apprentice den. This is where Apprentices sleep," meowed Rosepetal. "So this will be my den after my ceremony?" asked Snow. "Yes, you will sleep here." Rosepetal started walking toward the medicine cat den. "And this is the medicine cats den. You already know who's den this is because you've been sleeping in it for a moon and a half." Snow gave a mrrow of laughter and followed Rosepetal towards a pile of food. "Last, but not least, we have the freah kill pile. Cats go out to hunt and apprenticed and warriors can't eat their share until the queens, elders, and leaders eat their share."
Snow looked up at the sky and saw it was almost sundown. She grabbed a piece of fresh kill and devoured it. She then started to clean herself to look nice at her ceremony.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the high rock for a clan meeting."Snow heard this and walked over to the crowd of cats. She sat down next to Rosepetal and Badgerjaw. "I can't wait to see who's going to mentor me," Snow mewed in excitement. "I called a meeting to appoint two warriors and one apprentice. Orangepaw and Moonpaw, please come up on the high rock." Orangepaw and Moonpaw walked up on the high rock. They looked like they were about ready to explode with excitement. "I, Lightstar, leader of Cloudclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these two apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as a warrior in their turn. Orangepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your own life?" "I do." "And do you, Moonpaw, promise to uphold the warrior and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your own life?" "I do." "Then by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior name. Orangepaw, from this moment on, you will be known as Orangeflame. Starclan honors your courage and bravery, and we will welcome you as a full warrior of Cloudclan." Lightstar rested her muzzle on his head and he licked her shoulder. "And Moonpaw, by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior name. Moonpaw, from this moment on, you will be know as Moonlight. Starclan honors your courage and intelligence." Lightstar bent down and rested her muzzle on Moonlights head, and she licked Lightstars shoulder. "You two will sit vigil tonight at the camps entrance.
"Orangeflame! Moonlight! Orangeflame! Moonlight!" the cats meowed. "We have one more ceremony to perform. Snow, can you come up here please." Snow ran up there with excitement. "Snow, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Daisypaw. Your mentor will be Rosepetal. I hope Rosepetal will pass down all she knows in you. Rosepetal, may you please come up on the high rock." Rosepetal came up on the high rock in a couple of jumps. "Rosepetal, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have received excellent training from from Sharpeye, and you have shown yourself to be brave and courageous. You will be the mentor of Daisypaw, and I expect you to pass down all that you know to Daisypaw." Daisypaw walked over to Rosepetal and touched noses with Daisypaw. "Daisypaw! Daisypaw! Daisypaw!" A few cats meowed. Lightstar jumped down and so did Rosepetal and Daisypaw. Daisypaw and Badgerjaw were talking to eachother when they heard the ferns move.________________________________
