Daisypaw woke up with shafts of sunlight in her face. She got up immediately and looked around. She didn't see anyone. She gave herself a quick grooming. She went outside and looked around. Fernpaw, Spottedpaw, and Birdpaw were out for their first lesson, while Blizzardpaw and Leafpaw were sharing tongues near the camps entrance. She walked over to where they were. "Good morning. How was your sleep?" Leafpaw asked, half amusement half serious. "Good. Have you guys eaten yet?" Daisypaw mewed. "No, we haven't." "I'll get us something." Daisypaw walked over to the fresh kill pile and grabbed three mice. She went back toward Blizzardpaw and Leafpaw and dropped the mice in front of them. "Thanks," they both meowed. They sat down together and ate their mice quietly. Leafpaw finished first. "So, do you think we will be Warriors today?" Leafpaw meowed. "Of course! Why wouldn't we! Rosepetal said we did excellent. Why would you think that?" Blizzardpaw meowed. "Well, I don't think I did well on mine. I missed a mouse... or two." "Oh come on. Every warrior has bad luck now and then!" "Yeah, even I missed a mouse on my assessment." Daisypaw mewed.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the highrock for a clan meeting." Daisypaw was relieved that they can stop talking about this subject. Blizzardpaw, Leafpaw, and Daisypaw walked over to the group of cats. Daisypaw walked over to Rosepetal and put her tail tip on Rosepetals shoulder. "You've been a great mentor. Thanks for everything. I thought, I would never have friends or be accepted into the clan. But, now I've been accepted by both, especially you." Rosepetal gave a hard purr and pushed her muzzle into Daisypaws shoulder. "I'm glad you came. Your the best friend any cat could have." Daisypaw gave a purr back. She looked up at the high rock and saw Lightstar getting ready to speak.
"I have called you here today to appoint three new warriors." Daisypaws pelt prickled with excitement. She was going to be a warrior now!
"Blizzardpaw, Leafpaw, and Daisypaw, come forward." the three cats walked up to the high rock in a straight line. Blizzardpaw jumped up the high rock in two swift jumps, while Leafpaw and Daisypaw jumped it in one big leap.
"I, leader of Cloudclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as a warrior in their turn. Blizzardpaw, do you promise to protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your own life."
"I do," Blizzardpaw meowed swiftly.
"And do you, Leafpaw, promise to protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your own life?"
"I do," squealed Leafpaw.
"And do you, Daisypaw, promise to protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your own life?"
"I do," Daisypaw boldly meowed.
"Then by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior name. Blizzardpaw, from this day forward, you will be known as Blizzardwind. Starclan honors your courage." Lightstar rested her muzzle on Blizzardwinds head, and she licked her should. "Leafpaw, from this day forward you will be know as Leafstorm. Starclan honors your bravery."
She rested her muzzle on Leafstorms head, and she licked her shoulder. "Daisypaw, from this day forward, you will be known as Daisyflower. Starclan honors your kindness." She rested her muzzle, once again, on Daisyflowers head, and she licked her shoulder. "Blizzardwind! Leafstorm! Daisyflower!" All the cats cheered. The three jumped down and walked over to their friends to be congratulated. "You three will sit a silent vigil at the camps entrance tonight, starting at sunset until the dawn patrol comes back. You can not talk until your done." Lightstar jumped down the highrock and the crowd went over to Leafstorm and Blizzardwind. Only Badgerjaw, Rosepetal, Treebark, Poppytail, and Sharpeye stayed with Daisyflower. They celebrated alone. "Congratulations Daisyflower!" "Daisyflower! Daisyflower! Daisyflower!" They all cheered. Daisyflower started to purr in thanks and walked over to Rosepetals side. "So what do I have to do tonight?" "You have too sit at the camps entrance and guard the camp. You can't talk," Rosepetal meowed in reply. "That sounds
hard. I'd better get some sleep before then. Thanks for telling me." Daisyflower walked over to the apprentices den. She almost went in but realized she wasn't an apprentice any more. She walked over to the warriors den. She walked in and saw that most of the dens were already taken. She found three empty ones and thought it would be good for Blizzardwind, Leafstorm, and her. She walked over there, trying not to step on any sleeping cat. She got to them and started to knead the moss. She laid on it and went to sleep.
