Jin was lying in bed on his face, screaming into his pillow out of excitement. He had never hung out with anyone before except for a few minutes ago, even if it was only for forty minutes or so. He didn't even know where he got the courage to hug Namjoon. Jin had never felt like this before. Butterflies were going wild in his stomach. He felt happy.

Little did Jin know, Namjoon was experiencing the same thing. He was lying on his mattress, smiling to himself like an idiot. He was happy that the small boy had warmed up to him so quickly. To add to his happiness, he got his first weekly paycheck today. He made $25 a day, so he should be getting 232326 won ($175) for his weekly earnings.

Namjoon already missed Seokjin. He made him feel less lonely, as that's how it had been for most the week without Taehyung. They had only known each other for one or two days, but Namjoon felt like he knew Jin for years.

Eventually, the time came where Namjoon had to get up and prepare breakfast. The rule was that he had to make breakfast before 8:00 or he gets punished. It was only 7:10, so Namjoon had plenty of time.

He pushed off his mattress and crept down the hall, then stopping at Jin's door. He pressed his ear to the door to see if he was asleep after all of the excitement.

Soft snores came from inside the room. Namjoon found this adorable for some reason, then decided to keep walking downstairs.

Namjoon was in a good mood, so he decided to make pancakes. Namjoon was a smart man, so by this time he knew that the fourth meal was for Seokjin. It was kinda obvious, now that he thought of it, but now that he knew he tried extra hard to make his meals taste good just for Jin.

Namjoon did everything quietly as to not wake anyone up. It was nice, honestly, not having to hear Mr. Kim yelling at him to hurry up or that he missed a spot when he was mopping. He just cooked, thinking of Jin the whole time.

JIN

I woke up smiling and stretching. My phone's time read 10:37 AM, which was a lot later than I usually wake up. I guess I was just really tired after all of the excitement from four hours ago.

It's a shame that I woke up so late; I wanted to visit Namjoon while he was making breakfast. By now, he would be doing his next chore, so I would just have to wait.

I've never been close with anyone before, as I've never met anyone before, but I had a really good feeling about this. Now that he worked in my house, he didn't have anyone to talk to either, except when he texted people of course.

I feel ashamed for getting jealous when he pulls out his phone. I know he's probably texting all these girls that want to get with him, I mean who wouldn't? He's charming, caring, handsome... he's just perfect. I know it's stupid to be jealous, why would he prefer me over anyone anyways? He only met me a few days ago, plus he's probably straight.

I don't actually know my sexuality. It's not as if I could experiment like the other kids could. I've been homeschooled all my life. I've never even thought about it as I thought I'd be trapped here forever in boredom, but that changed when I saw Namjoon. I think I have a crush on him.

Thinking of Namjoon just makes me miss him more, so now I plan to go find him. I don't have to worry about getting caught by my parents since they're out of the house anyways.

Little did Jin know, Mr and Mrs. Kim were not out of the house. Jin bounded down the stairs, his footsteps echoing loudly in the empty ballroom-like space. He never got to be as loud as he wanted before with his parents keeping him a secret, but he never had the motivation to do so anyways before he met Namjoon. He felt free.

Jin came skipping around the corner of the dining room when he bumped into Mrs. Kim. Literally.

"And where do you think you're going young man?" she said in low tones, looking down her nose at Seokjin.

"I'm just getting a snack, mother," he gulped. Mrs. Kim struck him across the face with the back of her hand.

"Don't lie to me," she snarled, watching her son's eyes tear up from the pain. "No. Talking. To. The butler." every word was interrupted with a harsh slap on Jin's face.

Jin gulped again, rubbing his red cheek. "I haven't been, mother." he lied.

Mrs. Kim raised an eyebrow. "You think that I haven't noticed the changes in your behavior? Don't go near him again, or we'll get rid of him too. Go to your room."

Jin nodded, a tear running down his face. He turned on his heel and ran upstairs to his bedroom, slamming the door behind him.

NAMJOON (READER)

After feeling the distant rumble of Jin's bedroom door slam shut, Namjoon stopped dusting and looked up.

He knew it couldn't have been Mr or Mrs. Kim since they were both in the dining room, so it had to have been Seokjin. He set the duster down on the windowsill and sneaked past the open dining room door to avoid being seen.

Namjoon had learned a few different ways to get around through the vents over the short amount of time that he's been at the house. He chose to take the route that started in the ceiling of the downstairs bathroom, ending in an upstairs guest room.

When Namjoon took off the vent cover, a thick layer of dust was revealed. Clearly Jin never used this route.

Nevertheless, Namjoon stepped on the toilet seat to hoist himself up and into the ceiling, slipping the cover back on afterwards. With a bit of struggle, he made his way through the darkness and into and unfamiliar guest room. He slid out of the vent, coughing up dust.

Namjoon exited the room and made his way to Jin's door, knocking on it softly.

"Seokjin?" he whispered. When he got no response, he pressed his ear to the door. He could hear soft sobs.

"Seokjin, are you okay?" he whisper-shouted, not wanting to be heard by Mrs. Kim's bat ears. No response.

"I'm coming in if you don't open the door in the next ten seconds," he warned. He slowly counted to ten, hoping Jin would open the door. When he never did, Namjoon pushed the door open a bit.

Jin was sitting on his bed in a ball, facing away from Namjoon. He lifted his head when he felt the bed dip slightly, still not looking at Namjoon.

"What's wrong?" Namjoon asked quietly. He gasped a bit when he saw a bit of the red marks on Jin's face.

"Seokjin, look at me," he ordered. When the elder refused, Namjoon gently grabbed his chin and turned his head to face him.

Jin's eyes and cheeks were puffy as tears ran down his slap-stained face continuously. Namjoon put his hand on Jin's cheek, wiping his tears with his thumb.

"Who did this?" he asked. Jin shed more tears.

When Namjoon knew that he wasn't gonna get an answer out of Jin, he moved forwards and wrapped his arms around him, nuzzling into his shoulder as he held the small boy tight. Jin hugged him back immediately, sniffling quietly into his chest.

They stayed like that for a couple minutes, melting into each other as Jin was basically on Namjoon's hip. The younger pulled away slowly and cupped Jin's face.

"What happened?" Namjoon asked calmly and quietly. Jin shook his head and pushed Namjoon off of him, standing up.

"No, no, no," he murmured, grabbing chunks of his own hair and tugging as the tears started to build up in his eyes again.

"Seokjin..." Namjoon whispered, his eyes full of sadness.

"I'm sorry," Jin whispered. "We can't see each other anymore."
