Getting Back to Us...
"Hi, Mrs. Castillo," Natalie greeted with a wide smile, adjusting her apron on her waist. She was working when Sam's Mom called earlier this morning, Natalie eventually calling her back during her lunch break.
"Hi, sweetheart," Giulia grinned from ear to ear. Calling Natalie during the time Natalie wasn't speaking to her son, it would've felt weird. Any other circumstance, Giulia would've phoned her quickly, "I'm so happy you were able to call me back. I've been thinking long and hard about how I want my dress to look, and I finally came up with a conclusion."
Natalie brows raise, quickly remembering, "I wish I didn't have to cancel, but my sewing machine is busted right now, and doing it with a needle and thread would take me far more time than you have for the banquet."
"Oh?" Giulia frowns, "okay. That's alright."
"Thank you for understanding."
Giulia shakes her head with a smile, "no problem. Are you still coming to dinner this weekend?"
Natalie grins at how she inserted that because Giulia didn't even ask her about dinner, "I can't. My parents have been asking to see me, and I promised them I'll be there."
"I should meet them one of these days," Giulia stated, "not to rush or anything."
Beaming at the request, "I think my mom would like that. I'll talk to her about it."
"Thanks, sweetie," asking because she wanted to know from Natalie's perspective, "are you two okay now? Everything's good?"
With a light smile, "yeah, we're okay."
Getting back to who they were can be easy, but they need to move forward with this new fond reality. Natalie now knows, and things were going to be different.
Speaking on the line a little more with Giulia, and hearing that if Natalie ever wanted to talk about things, Giulia will always be there for her; the two saying their goodbyes before ending the call.
Natalie still haven't told her parents about Sam. Although their wants for her to date someone else who isn't a Mobster would be clear, it wouldn't change her mind, even if having them from upon her bothered her.
Trying to explain why she loves someone like that would waste time and drive wedge between her family. So, for now, Sam was a normal guy in their eyes.
Besides, her main focus was building a stronger relationship between her and her boyfriend.
Taking a seat at the table, Natalie spotted Tyler running over towards her. She plops her phone onto the table, opening her arms for him; Tyler beaming with excitement while jumping on her, "Natalie!"
She squeezed him tight, cradling him like he was a baby, "Tyler, I missed you."
Cameron wasn't too far behind, "Charolette, you can't keep bringin' your kid around this bar," glancing over his shoulder at Charlotte who had her bottom lip poked out for him to forgive her, "and Natalie, you can't keep sitting down when you have customers waitin' on you."
She lifts her head, "I'm on my lunch."
"You are?" he asked dumbfounded, fist on his hip as he came to a complete stop before her.
"Yes. I was gonna try the new lobster melted fries Gia put on the menu," making sure to add a cold glass of Cherry Pepsi with ice to her order.
Cameron slides onto the chair across from her, "your boyfriend not stealing you this time?" Cameron asked with raised brows.
It didn't take much thought to see they were back on good terms, catching Natalie step from his car, the two entering together with better and uplifting energies.
