❝ I don't need to know no English ❞

You sat behind the table, trying your best to explain the material, but it was impossible when the boy you were supposed to tutor paid no attention at all.

"If you don't stop thinking about volleyball I will slap you," you said confidently, slamming the table to prove your point. He blinked a few times, looking up at you, confusion in his eyes. "What?"

"If you don't stop thinking about volleyball I will slap you," you repeat yourself, this time in Japanese. "I am not thinking about volleyball," Kageyama - one of your classmates and also Karasuno's famous setter - argued, making you raise an eyebrow at him. "Yeah sure, what else would you be doing instead of English?"

He rolled his eyes at you, taking his pen and looking at the exercises in front of him, wanting to prove to you that he had been paying attention. He stared at the page, making you curious if he actually knew what to do. You felt a bit proud as he started writing down his answers. You weren't sure yet if they were correct too or not, but you hoped they were. After all, you have spent a whole month tutoring him and now you were in his house even during your Christmas break, it would be sad if he still didn't know what to do with it.

He handed you the paper once he was finished, taking his phone as if he wanted to make sure you knew he didn't give a fuck about your tutoring or his score. You took a look at his paper, sighing already. You took your red pen, shaking your head as you corrected all his mistakes.

Kageyama, even though he pretended to be on his phone as you marked his paper, kept looking at you as you did so. He really didn't care about his score, but for the sake of being able to play volleyball he wanted to know how he did. The fact he got to look at you while doing so was just a bonus.

"How are you so bad at something so easy?" You asked in English, a small part of you giving up on him already. "It's not easy," he argued and your eyes widened. "You understood me?" He nodded confusedly, making you clap happily. "That means my work wasn't for nothing after all!" He chuckled at you, making you embarrassed for being so excited over something so stupid.

"Alright look, you need to put the verb into its past form when you're talking about something that already happened, you can't leave it as it is," you started explaining again. Kageyama glanced at you, his eyes asking for you to stop, but you continued talking. He sighed a bit, looking at you as you explained.

He wasn't paying attention to what you were saying or where you were pointing on the paper. He was just paying attention to you in general. He took a proper look at what you were wearing - a matching black hoodie you got with your best friend and rant to him about it the next day, dark nylons with the skirt from your school uniform - and then at the way your mouth moved when you were explaining something. He couldn't help it and stare at your lips, they were perfect in his opinion, and no matter how much he didn't want to admit it, he wished he could kiss them.

It hasn't been that long since he realized he liked you, it was sometime around the time you began to tutor him. He thought he was good at hiding his little crush, but somehow, Hinata noticed the way he looked at you and kept teasing him about it since then.

Once, he almost told you Kageyama had a crush on you, but you were too focused on your work to pay any attention to the two of them. You were confident they were just arguing over something, so you didn't find the need to listen to them, but when you saw the look on their faces when you said you weren't paying attention to either one of them you wished you did, because you could feel it was something important.

"Are you listening to me?" You asked, closing the book in your hands and looking at Kageyama instead. "What? Yeah, sure," he answered, blinking a few times to get his mind back to earth. Your eyes widened at the sudden English. "What?" He asked again, confusedly looking at you. He had no idea what you were saying if he was completely honest, but the way you looked at him made him even more confused than your question.

"I am giving up today," you proclaimed, getting up. His eyes shot to you immediately and he had an inner fight with himself, debating on if he should try to stop you from leaving or just let you go. "Ah, okay," he mumbled. "Do you want to meet up again tomorrow or something?"

"I think both of us had enough studying already. Just enjoy the rest of your winter break and we can have another lesson once school starts again," you proclaimed, slowly packing all your stuff. "What?" He asked, making you chuckle. You glanced at him, questioning what he was confused about again. It wasn't like you would be talking to him in English so you knew he understood.

"Then, uh, do you want to meet just like that? Hinata has been annoying me about some sushi shop and I don't want to go alone," he suggested, trying to sound as cool as possible. You chuckled at him, nodding. "Sure, it could be fun," you agreed. "Text me the info." He nodded, watching you take your last things. 

He stood up too, walking with you out of his room. He ignored Miwa's teasing smile and walked you to the door, a quiet "see you later," leaving his lips as you walked out of his house.

"Yeah, see you later," you smiled back at him. "Next time don't look at my lips so much or I might end up thinking you like me," you grinned, teasing the taller boy. You could see the shock on his face and had to chuckle. You waved at him one last time, walking away without saying anything else.

Christmas is literally right behind the corner, I am excited to open my albums hehe AND ALSO FINALLY A BREAK FROM SCHOOL OH MY GOD Today was my last school day and I am starting school again on the 3rd so maybe I could write a bit more? We'll see haha  

I said the Osamu one-shot was probably the shortest I wrote, right? I was wrong, this one is the shortest lol
