Gu Wei pulled out the sword with a flourish and it glowed brightly in the darkness, emitting an almost ethereal red light that illuminated his face.

What a beautiful uh... light saber.

The sharp metal hummed with life and he couldn't help but to think of how beautiful it looked.

I am sorry that you are named 'whatever'. You deserve a better name.

As he was admiring the intricate crafting of the sword and how it glowed, he felt a strange sensation of something drawing his energy, flowing towards the sword. It was like a gravitational pull and his body felt like it was brimming with power.

Shall I give it a try?

He raised the sword parallel to the ground, and casually swung it. Just like that, the blade cut through the air as if it were cutting grass.

Holy...

He jumped back with surprise and his eyes widened when the blade sliced cleanly through the air, creating a perfect circle of razor-sharp air. The blade sliced off a tree branch easily, cutting the thick wood in crisp line like it was butter.

What the hell... he mused, watching the the branch crumple and fall on the ground in slow motion, like some bizarre sci fi movie.

This is so... terrifying. Cool but terrifying! Thank God I was not stupid enough to try this in the room or I might destroy the entire place. Again, how is this scientifically possible? What kind of physic law is this? Explosive thermodynamics? Electrons and photons manipulations?

But even as his mind struggled to comprehend what he had just done, his senses screamed at him to keep going. The sword glinted again, the air around his body glowing faintly and pulsing softly. This sword was like a beacon calling him to follow its path forward, guiding him. He could feel its energy calling to him from all directions and Gu Wei's blood boiled, excitement bubbling up in him. He felt alive. Like someone else had taken over his body while he was merely an avatar.

Oh, this is so much fun!

He leapt forward, the sword in front of him moving effortlessly through the air as if it was meant for him. His body moved without conscious thought yet he still knew where he needed to go next even before he did so. He moved past the trees (like God freaking ninja), slicing through them and clearing the way for himself, the sword humming as it cut the air.

A while later, he landed lightly on a large piece of rock, looking around him curiously and scanning the area. In front of him stood a tall mountain in the distance, shrouded in shadows. The moonlight shone, glittering silver and causing the landscape in front of him to sparkle. The air was filled with the faint sound of rushing water, which led Gu Wei to the conclusion that he must be somewhere near the stream.

"You still remember how to use your sword well." The voice behind him startled him slightly, making him jump out of his skin.

"Shit!" Gu Wei spun around, his arms flailing and nearly sending him stumbling backwards.

Lan Wangji rushed forward, catching him before he fell and holding him close to him protectively. "Are you alright?"

"Y--Yes, I'm fine," Gu Wei stuttered. "Just surprised." He added, taking note of the intense look in his eyes and his strong grip on Gu Wei's shoulders. For a moment they simply stared at each other in silence. In such close distance between them, Gu Wei could still smell the sandalwood scent emanating from Lan Wangji's body although it was faint.

At least he is controlling his pheromones now.

"My apology for startling you." Lan Wangji said softly.
