Gu Wei found himself in a bit of a pickle. Ever since he had Wei Wuxian's memories transplanted into his brain, he couldn't help but crave a good old swig of alcohol. And it was so damn irritating because the last thing he wanted was to drink or even get near the devil's nectar. After all, that stuff practically killed him in his past life (or maybe it was the truck, but let's blame alcohol because it's more dramatic that way, right?). He'd rather go through the agonies of withdrawal than touch a drop of that cursed liquid ever again.

Seriously, how did I even end up as alcoholic at fifteen? I didn't even drink that much in my thirty one years of life in previous life... My life just won't stop being ridiculous, huh?

Fortunately for Gu Wei, it wasn't all bad news. Somehow, along with those pesky memories, Gu Wei also inherited Wei Wuxian's mad skills. That meant he could fly around on his own sword like a boss now (much to Lan Wangji's silent disappointment). And he enjoyed this kind of ludicrous ability.

"So, Wen Qing managed to fix you up, huh?" Jiang Cheng asked nonchalantly as they flew in the air, their swords gliding like hovercraft.

Gu Wei shrugged. "Yeah." He replied simply.

Wen Qing had darted off right after giving him the treatment last night, leaving behind a note that said, "Do not double up on the suppressant."

Well, guess what? Gu Wei conveniently ignored that little warning. What was he supposed to do? If he didn't take two pills, he'd never be able to act like a normal human in front of Lan Wangji (being omega was hard, okay?). And that just wouldn't do. He already embarrassed himself enough at this point and if there are more unfortunate series of him making a fool out of himself, he would consider burying himself in a hole. For real.

"Maybe, I should get some acupuncture treatment too." Nie Huaisang mused as he held on tight to Jiang Cheng.

"How about I give you free acupuncture treatment?" Jiang Cheng huffed. "With big needles!"

"Aiyo, Jiang-xiong. Why are you being like this again? We're good friend, aren't we?" Nie Huaisang whined.

Jiang Cheng snapped, "Stop hugging me then!"

"I don't want to fall." Nie Huaisang protested, tightening his hold.

"Nie Huaisang!!" Jiang Cheng yelled. "We'll both fall at this rate!"

"Then stop struggling and just focus on flying." Nie Huaisang answered nonchalantly.

"You!" Jiang Cheng gritted his teeth, steadying his breath to control on his sword. "I will never let you fly with me ever again!"

"Even if I pay you one silver?" Nie Huaisang asked.

"One silver?" Jiang Cheng repeated.

"Yeah."

Jiang Cheng narrowed his eyes and huffed, "Fine."

By evening, they reached a town called Yueyang. Gu Wei glanced over at the alpha who was sitting beside him. Lan Wangji had been very quiet today. The guy is usually quiet but he is extra silent. His face was impassive (except for that little wrinkle between his brows), and he seemed almost out of it. Like there was something bothering him since they finished eating.

"Have you heard? They said the entire Chang Clan disappeared overnight." They heard the townsfolks' gossip while dining. "However, whoever passed by their residence at night would hear screams and heavy raps coming from the place! As if someone wanted to get out but they couldn't! And when they checked out the place in daytime, there was no one there!"
