It was time for the summer in New Zealand, and the chaotic equestrian residents were packing their bags. Cassie threw Gage's scarf across the room, causing the scarf to get caught on the Brantlerch's antlers.
"Great heavens and the periodic table, what the bloody helling fuck was that for?" Gage snapped. Cassie didn't listen, and the vampire kept trying to find her witch tome. Eventually, her search was successful, but Gage was still left suffocating underneath the alpine mountain pile of books.
Tien came in the farm dorm, with a bitchface permanently frozen in time. "Hurry up, you rubber piss rats." She said, with practically no soul left in her body. But to the riding instructor's surprise, her students actually listened for once.
Once everybody was packed up for their trip, Tien loaded the luggage onto the Florian Express to a special portal conjured by Cassie to take them to Vermont. Hippolyte was scurrying behind on all four paws, holding a mother's day card in her mouth. Before the gang could leave her behind, the small mutt lept onto the back of the Florian Express and got inside through the window.
"Keep all limbs inside the express at all times." Fries announced before being shushed by Carbs. Mystical sounds could be heard as the Florian Express traversed through the portal. Eventually, the group were greeted with a breathtaking winter view of a massive lake that was partially frozen over. The snow was cold and dense, and there was so much of it. For a place known as the Green State, the only green present was held in Cassie's eyes. Awe and wonder consumed the chaotic equestrians as they went to a nearby Hilton Hotel, unpacking their luggage and meeting back at the lobby.
Hippolyte's snowy tail wagged with anticipation, as today was the day that she was adopted by Tien. The canine waited. And waited... But nobody seemed to even notice her presence. Rage consumed the ankle-biter, and she saw the Chaos Group swooning over the nerd. The anger and jealousy made Hippolyte convinced that Gage was stealing the attention somehow, and if she wanted to get noticed, she would need to do something huge.
The chaos subsided as the night drew closer and the winter winds raced across the land. The tiny canine had an unassuming pouch hidden under her fur containing a sharp switchblade, as well as a couple other stuff such as a large blanket and even a tent.
The mutt silently marched towards the doorway, as the breeze flooded the lobby with snow. Hippolyte's tiny paws went through the opened gateway, fully aware that she will most certainly meet the grim reaper. But that didn't halt the determined dog, as Hippo's ankles were devoured by the white desert sands of death.
Although the storm and snow made it practically impossible for the canine to find her path without the guidance of the moon's light, but her destiny would not be deterred by something as trivial as the weather. The powerful combination instructed Hippolyte to go through some foliage covered in snow.
Hippo ventured through the cold night, before she heard the sound of a large tail thrashing around. Her target has been found: The monster of Lake Champlain. The tornado of winter blinded her for a short amount of time, which she used to unsheathe her switchblade to finally receive the glory she felt she deserved.
The pomsky's eyes eventually adjusted to the storm just enough for her to see a terrified plesiosaur-like creature with their muzzle caught within a snare trap, and they were starting to succumb to hypothermia as the temperatures dipped below zero. The creature knew their death was imminent, even before the real would-be monster manifested within the winter winds.
Was this actually Death himself? The poor plesiosaur was not able to accept their fate, and attempted to fight for their life. However, Death didn't move closer to them. Instead, Death was simply looking at them with his hazel eyes.
Hippolyte's repressed first ever memories began to resurface. They happened before she could see anything except for darkness, but what she did remember was the winter wind scorching her tiny body. She remembered that feeling... knowing that she wouldn't ever be given the chance to experience life. If it wasn't for Tien, she wouldn't be here. Formal Friesians Riding School wouldn't be the same without the chaotic canine.
The fluffy creature was unable to bring herself to allow the animal to perish, as she was far too familiar with that experience. Hippolyte sheathed the switchblade and got out a first-aid kit. Her trembling paws pinched down on the pinch piece as she released the suffering animal before disinfecting the wounds and putting some bandages around the upper and lower snout.
After that, Hippolyte took out her favorite blanket from when she was a pup and used it as a makeshift scarf for the creature just before she burrowed under one of their flippers and fell asleep, allowing the animal to have enough warmth to make it through the storm.
However, the duo were quickly woken up by the sounds of swift, crunching footsteps treading through the snow. Hippolyte was naturally the first to pick up on the sound, and she was able to recognize the footsteps in the snow as Gage's panicked sprint.
The nerd ran into the blizzard, hoping to escape the Chaos Group. Luckily, they managed to escape the Chaos Group, but they then accidentally bump into a lake monster who was slightly larger than a thoroughbred. Gage trembled in terror, but the animal didn't show any signs of aggression at all, and then Gage suddenly decided to take their chance and risk being killed.
Gage held out their arm towards the massive animal which could easily kill them. But in spite of the recklessness, Ghost simply waltzed over with caution and determined that Gage was most likely not a threat. Shortly after, Hippolyte popped out of the snow like a forbidden furry whack-a-mole.
The canine noticed Gage, and felt a sense of remorse. She went over to the nerd and confided in them. "I thought that if I did something great, that maybe I would get the same recognition as you get." Hippolyte muttered as tears rolled down her fluffy cheeks before turning to ice.
Gage hugged the barn dog with compassion. "Don't worry, Hippo. You're literally our best jouster and an amazing companion! Formal Friesians Riding School wouldn't be the same without you." The nerd reassured before suddenly being interrupted by what sounded like a cheetah.
"Peculiar. That sounds exactly like Acinonyx jubatus." The nerd commented. Hippolyte looked at Gage with confusion, which they were quick to recognize. "The scientific name for the cheetah." They clarified before taking some notes.
Hippolyte turned to Gage. "So... I guess the legend of the deep isn't a water horse after all." The canine jokingly remarked, causing some laughter between all three parties before the trio decided to make a portal connecting the meeting spot to a place nearby the Formal Friesians barn.
After they said their farewells, Gage and Hippo headed back to the Hilton Hotel. "You seemed to have developed quite the friendship with that fella. What is his name?" Gage wondered. Hippolyte panicked for a bit. She saw Lingus floating around Gage. "His name is Ghost." The canine responded with her improvised name. But she decided to add on a bit to make it sound a little prettier.
"It is short for uh... Ghost Flower." Hippolyte explained to Gage just before they returned to the hotel with everyone. The main eight that were there gave both Gage and Hippo a group hug. Tien was just glad that both students were still alive.
When the reunion was over, the main ten admired the beauty of Lake Champlain. But Gage and Hippo both admired the lake for the beauty of both the lake itself and it's reclusive resident with jade and copper-like color eyes. And the promise to visit wasn't broken, as Hippo frequently visited Ghost Flower, and eventually became a member of The Pack.
