☆*:.•.:*☆"OKAY, WE are officially done with practice today and are now almost halfway through finishing the routine!" lexi shouted as the cheer squad clapped and cheered in excitement.
"we are ahead of schedule, thanks to everyone's cooperation today. you can all get ready to leave now, okay!" alexandria smiled, heading towards the door after grabbing her things.
"hey lexi, you wanna come shopping with us?" michelle asked kindly, gesturing towards herself, darci and madi.
"as much as i adore buying clothes i don't need, i have something to do that is completely out of my control and by force." lexi answered vaguely.
"what the fuck is you talking about?" darci looked at her friend, chuckling.
"she means she has an english assignment to do, and chris is her partner." madi filled in the other two girls who could not hold in their laughter.
"yeah, yeah. laugh it up girls, i'm glad you find it funny." lexi rolled her eyes and headed to the door to find chris.
she knew he had lacrosse practice after school today so finding him would be easy.
making her way towards the school's exit, she saw matt, talking to a few of the lacrosse players and chris followed shortly after.
"so, are we going to figure out our project now? or are you busy practicing for warming up the bench?" lexi caught up with the group, walking next to chris despite the glare he sent her way.
"what project?" matt questioned, directing his attention to the girl walking behind now.
"we have to be partners for an english assignment or whatever." chris mumbled as his friends on the lacrosse team continued to laugh at the insult lexi had given him.
"listen man, are we gonna study or not?" alexandria quickly lost patience.
"fine, chill out. just come over now."
"okay, i'll drive home so i can shower and change first." lexi wasn't exactly expecting him to want to study today, right now.
"i don't care about the details." chris sighed and made a beeline for matt's car so he didn't have to listen to the girl next to him talking.
"he's such a little bitch." lexi laughed with matt before saying goodbye and making her way to her own car.
once she got home, alexandria immediately hopped into the shower, washing away all the hard work of today's cheer practice off of her body.
since she was only going to the sturniolo house, she didn't bother reapplying any makeup, and opted for a comfy grey hoodie with matching sweatpants.
she also grabbed a grey fabric headband to push back her hair, and finished off her lounging look with a pair of ugg's.(author: it's the vibe.)
making sure to remember her english folder, lexi got into her car and made the short 15 minute journey to the sturniolo house.
opening the door seeing as it was practically her second home, she was welcomed by marylou and nick.
"lexi! i'm so glad to see you, honey. how have you been?" marylou instantly gave her a warm embrace, squeezing her tightly.
"i'm good! did you enjoy your weekend trip to cape cod?" alexandria smiled genuinely.
"yes it was fabulous. you know, we should all go together some time, you've never seen our cabin in the cape have you?" marylou invited the girl who she saw as a daughter.
"i've heard great things about it so, maybe sometime!"
"okay mom, stop hogging my friend." nick pulled lexi away as his mother laughed.
"she's not here for you." chris' voice could be heard as he walked into the living room.
"i'm not here for you either? i'm here for english." lexi rolled her eyes, she was beginning to lose count at how many times she did that at the hands of chris.
"whatever, let's just go up to my room." the boy mimicked her actions, walking past her and up the stairs.
"...why?"
"because it's pointless coming here to study if all you do is talk to nick and get spoiled by my mom." chris turned to face the girl, who realised he did make a good point but wasn't going to let him know that regardless.
"sounds like you're jealous that your mom likes me more than you." lexi shot him a fake smile and he sighed, continuing his ascent of the stairs.
as she followed him up the stairs and to the door of his bedroom, alexandria quickly realised she'd never actually seen his bedroom before.
she hoped it wouldn't become a habit.upon entering the room, lexi was shocked to discover that it looked...normal?
"this is... not what i expected your room to look like." she blurted.
"well what did you expect?" he squinted at her curiously.
"half naked women riding a motorcycle, or half naked women on a horse. or half naked women on a—"
"can you stop saying half naked women? what am i, a 13 year old boy?" chris interrupted.
"do you want me to answer that question?" lexi taunted him.
"no. can we just study now?" chris mumbled.
lexi remembered what she promised to madi.
"you're right. let's just call a truce. no more fighting, arguing, or teasing of any kind while we work on this project." alexandria held out her hand for him to shake, but chris just stared down at it, then back at her."you're not wearing makeup right now. did they fire you at the circus?" he grinned.
"chris." she emphasised her open hand.
"okay, my bad. i had to get one last insult out." he took her hand in his and shook it vigorously.
