Silent Secrets - Minsung

Chapter 41

Sunday morning:
Jisung's POV:

It was finally the day. The day when Jisung would be surprising Minho with a cat. He had found a cat online, he had been abandoned by his owners and left at the shelter for a month. Today was finally the day that he could pick the cat up. He was going to go to the store for the cat supplies, then go and pick it up from the shelter and wait until Minho got back from work. Jisung was so excited to see Minho's face. Jisung knows how much Minho loves cats, he is always talking about wanting one when he graduates from school. But he is so close to graduating, so why not a little earlier, as an early graduation gift? He got ready as quickly as he could and got the bus to town to shop for the cat.

Once Jisung got to the pet aisle there were so many options. He wanted the best for their soon-to-be prince so he got to shopping. He knew he needed a pet carrier to bring him home in, two bowls, dry and wet cat food, a cat tree, a laser pointer, multiple toys, 2 scratching posts and 2 beds - one for their living room and another for their bedroom, cat treats, a cat brush, a cute red collar, and of course a litter box and litter. When he had gotten everything he needed he went to pay, sighing when he saw the total go over $150. By that point he stopped looking, knowing the look on Minho's face was going to be worth the significant loss in money. He then called a taxi to come and take him back home, as he had underestimated how much stuff he would buy. Once he had gotten everything into the apartment he quickly left it all in a mess as his appointment was in less than 30 minutes and didn't want to be late. He got the bus to the shelter, with the pet carrier in hand. He was so excited that he could barely sit still. Even though this cat was mainly a present to Minho, Jisung couldn't lie to himself. He was also beyond excited to be getting a cat.

Once he arrived and told the front desk that he had a pick-up appointment he was shown to the area where they had all of the cats. They were all in cages, the excitement rushed out of Jisung and sadness quickly replaced it. He followed the staff to the end of the room with his head down, trying to not look at how depressed the cats looked. He watched as the staff unlocked his new cat's cage, instructing Jisung to open his pet carrier, then opened the door, picked up his cat and basically threw him into the carrier. The cat was hissing from the time the cage was unlocked, until the time that the carrier was locked. The cat even went for the staff as he reached into the cage. Jisung was horrified at the staff's actions but tried to not show it on his face. At least he was getting one cat out of this place. He wished he could save more, but one was all he could handle for now. He then was told to go sign some papers at the front desk. Jisung bowed at the man, before walking as fast as he could to the reception, he wanted to get out of this place as quickly as he could. Once he was finished signing the papers, he left and got the bus back home.

On the journey back he had sat next to the window, with the cat carrier near the middle, but the entrance of the carrier was facing Jisung. After 5 minutes of the bus journey, he realised that the cat was hissing at him. Sighing Jisung switched places with the carrier, and faced the cat next to the window, in hopes that he would be a little bit calmer. It worked after a couple of minutes. Jisung now knew that the cat was going to take a while to warm up to humans, but hoped that he and Minho could help the cat learn to trust humans.

Once Jisung arrived home, he put the cat carrier in his bedroom, opened the door, and left the room, closing the door behind him. He hoped that the cat could get used to the bedroom first, while Jisung worked on putting the trees and stuff together and setting everything up for him.

After multiple hours of hard work trying to build everything, Jisung had finally managed. Chuckling, he stood up and admired it. Now just to find everything a place to go he thought. Nodding to himself, he started with the bigger objects, placed one of the beds and the toys in the living room, put the litter box in the bathroom, along with the brush, and put the food, treats and bowls in the kitchen. Then took the other bed, scratching post and a handful of toys to the door of the bedroom. Opening the door slowly, he saw the cat that was lying on the bed, get up and run back into the pet carrier. Quickly but carefully, he arranged the stuff where he wanted them to go, and left, closing the door again.

The last finishing touch was to hang the collar up where they hang their keys, as Jisung knew that Minho did that straight away when he came in. Smiling to himself he sat down and watched TV, trying to distract himself from the anticipation.

Hehe, you have to wait for part 2, this chapter is too long to do Minho's reaction as well.
Anyway, I wonder if I should have there be a side part where Minho buys Bbama for Jisung as well. Except it would only be Jisungs reaction, not the getting Bbama part.
