January 1917

I was holding in my giggles with Anastasia, Caoimhe, Cian, Valentina, Zander, Maria, Enzo and Assen. Trying to suppress our giggles as we found every little thing funny, Mama sat down in a funny way and we all burst into laughter. Mama turned around finally having enough and kicked us out of the church because she was frustrated. So we stand up and wait outside the church until mass is over.

We were all laughing as we told stories. "And guess what? He fell over the cake and went the rest of the wedding with icing on his face. And on his eyes!" Cian finished. We haven't heard from Father Grigori in a long time. Katya had no idea because she was a runaway but Mama doesn't know that. Mama was starting to get worried since Alexei had started to feel more ill. Anastasia kicked a rock around while listening to a story, Maria sat down and Cian was eating some popcorn chicken. Shura was watching us and Assen was doing rock paper scissors with Enzo. "I don't regret getting kicked out." Anastasia chuckled. "Why?" Maria asked. "Because it was getting incredibly boring." Anastasia replied and shrugged. I smiled to myself as time passes by. Once Mass finally ends the big pair, Katya, Vanya and I go the infirmary and help in surgeries.

Cian went else where. The day slowly goes by and we lost a total of two patients today, sad but the number is lower than usual which is a positive. Once day this place will crack into pieces and make an alliance with Germany. The revolution.. my head was spinning as I thought of it all.

I sat at a table and stared off at the distance thinking of a soldier named Ivan. When I first met him, he was cheery and kind. Thankfully he was alright. The next time his leg was amputated but that never stopped his usual cheerful self, it didn't even stop his passion to back to the front and fight the Germans. The next time he came in he died in surgery. Tears were held back and blinked away as i thought of it. He was a very good friend, and he was only 21. He had so much to live for, but now he's gone forever. He died at the same age as Tanya in.. the original timeline i suppose. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I was handed two letters.

"Thanks Katya." I thanked the girl. But she looked solemn. I got the letters from Igor and Mila as usual. Mila recently gave birth to twins! I was so shocked and they are so cute! Both are so healthy! After my last interaction with Malcolm I've been avoiding him. I did not tell Mila because she needs the security he provides for her. She's coming back to the palace this week but she's been sending me photos of her and her baby's. And the baby's together. She told me I could name them, and to relive my old life. I named the girl Margaret to be nicknamed Margo and the boy Heinrich, to be nicknamed Heinz. The next letter is from Igor, he's coming back to St Petersburg soon, I can't wait to see him! He's so nice and sweet.

I opened the letter slowly and opened it happily as my heart swelled.
