Ivy was bored. Very bored, especially this early in the morning. She was admiring the suite silently, just waiting for the rest of the group to wake up. Her tail flicked around in curiosity, and she was humming softly.
"You bored, chér?" Nico's voice broke out. Ivy let out a small gasp, her fur sticking up as she whipped around. He only smirked at her.
"Uh..."
"Don' be afraid, it's fine." Nico leaned against the wall, arms folded. Yet his tail was flicking still. "What're you doin', anyway? Couldn' sleep?"
"No, I couldn't." Ivy admitted. Nico pushed himself off the wall.
"Did you sleep well last night?"
"For the most part..."
"Aww, what's de matter?"
"Just...just nightmares."
"I'm sorry to hear dat, chér."
"Mordecai says they aren't real, anyways. That they don't mean anything." Ivy sat down on a nearby stool. Nico tilted his head to the side, giving it some thought.
"He may have a point dere." He faltered. "Where is he, anyway?"
"Dunno. Maybe with Mr. Sweet?"
"Mmm. Dat might be our answer, den."
"...how did you even get back here with the car being damaged? After you tried..." Ivy rolled her wrists and waved her hands, faltering, gesturing.
"Ah, Peekon called Mr. Sweet to get us a ride back." Nico answered, smirking again.
"...oh." Ivy's ears flattened.
"It don' bother me none." Nico commented. Ivy gave a small nod.
"...what was your reaction?"
"To what?"
"The murders."
"Serafine was jus' concerned, I was confused as hell, and den dere was Peekon...he had a fear in 'is eyes I ain't ever seen from 'im." Nico recalled. "He looked so..."
"...terrified?" Ivy's heart skipped a beat. "But...he never... "
"Dat's what made it so scary. He don' flinch like dat: so seein' dat..." Nico shook his head. "Don' tell 'im I told you all dat. He can get...prickly."
"...is that why you call him 'Peekon'?" Ivy tilted her head.
"Mhmm." Nico smiled.
"What're you two doin' up dis early?" Serafine walked in, yawning and stretching her arms.
"She couldn't sleep. I found her up." Nico answered.
"So we've just been talking!" Ivy grinned. Serafine couldn't help but smile back, her eyes squinting a bit. Her smile faded.
"Where's Peekon?"
"Probably with Mr. Sweet." Ivy answered again.
"...I could find 'im. I've been needin' to talk to 'im." Nico suggested. "Jus' gimme a minute."
Serafine raised a brow at her brother's remark. "Dat's new from you...should I—"
"No, sis. You don' need to." Nico held his hand up. "Trust me: I got dis." He then walked back into his room, closing the door and getting ready to get changed.
"...is–is everyone else up...?" Freckle sat up, rubbing his eyes. He growled a bit when Rocky's tail swatted his face. He shoved it away.
"Yup...and Mordecai's missing." Ivy sighed. She gave a small smile at Freckle's reaction, and Freckle froze up, chuckling awkwardly.
"I'll find 'im." Nico came back out of the room, dressed.
"Mmalright. Don' kill anyone witout me. 'Kay?" Serafine smirked. Nico let out a small laugh, shaking his head.
"Can't promise dat." He reminded. He then went off to find Mordecai...in truth, Nico was far more interested in who was murdering everyone than what he let on, and also had suspicions about Silas Tueuse...something terribly wrong is going on.
