Note: Hello, this has been in my drafts since last year, so far before whatever the fuck this winter and spring were. I wanted to post this and the next chapter despite them problem not getting any reads. I wanted to warn you though, Punz and Cate are together and in this chapter since everything about them had yet to come out when I wrote this.

Also, I got a new phone. An iPhone actually, and when I first started here and wrote my corpse one shot series, it was on my iPhone. So writing on wattpad is a lot easier again. This isn't me promising anything, but considering I've been writing my ass off on tumblr, I've decided to open the door to me finishing this. Maybe I will when the moment are right, maybe I won't I have no idea. Taking three years to get through this is diabolical, but a lot has happened since then I suppose.

I got my degree, I've consistently been in remission of my chronic illness since November, I'm medicated and not ruining my life anymore, and it's so nice to have hobbies again after working on myself for so long, even if they're writing silly little stories about silly little content creators at my ripe age. I don't give a fuck about much anymore, and it's so nice being basically closer to 30 than 20. Life gets so much damn better.

Dream never called them back.

Lilith didn't think she could hold it against him though. He said he would call when he could, and Corpse didn't seem ready to figure it out after their discussion. The next morning Lilith felt it. Corpse gave up, or rather, he was done wasting his time on someone who wasn't valuing his. But like Lilith, he too probably had too much hope for the situation.

So, when Corpse came to her while she worked, her body grew rigid. She knew what he was going to tell her. It was no secret that Lilith was extensively responsible during the last few weeks. Even with withdrawal symptoms keeping her awake most nights, her thick skin was tougher than her body's desperation to feel normal again. She didn't even give herself the option to go back to how she was. With three appointments scheduled with a therapist as well, there was no reason for her to be watched all day and night anymore. That didn't mean she didn't want to be.

"I think it might be time for me to go home," Corpse said. Lilith didn't flinch as she finished typing the sentence on her keyboard. She turned to him.

"I know."

"I don't want to leave you."

"I know that, but at this point it feels like waiting is useless. I get it."

"Lilith," he sighed and leaned forward. "Even if he did call me, there's no point in me being here because I'm most likely not going to his house for a while. You haven't even been over there yet since George arrived. Maybe you just have to go over there and be alone with them for a while—"

"No, not without you," she snapped. "I'm not going to leave you like that when I see Dream."

"Think about it, Lilith, why is that house so big? They got it so all of you can comfortably live there; the four of you. For the sake of all you planned the last four years, I think it's best if you go. Hell, I don't even know if Dream is planning for anyone to come over there for a while, but when he does, I know for a fact it may just be you and probably Karl." She didn't have something to say back to that. That didn't mean an edge didn't lodge in her throat; she wanted to tell him that he was necessary and needed in that house, and while that wasn't not the case, he was even their friend before they made plans in the pre-pandemic world.
