The DS felt extra warm in michaels hands, the screen started to blink then went completely blank.
"The fuck?" Michael shook it in his hands, hitting his palm against its side. Did it really just die on him? He could have sworn it was fully charged.
Just as he looked up he saw Ashton, Luke, and Calum walk in. They looked questioningly at his confused face.
"Man, Michael, you've been in here all day. " Calum sat down and waved his hand at the window behind him, the blue sky was already fading with the beautiful colors of a sunset.
Michaels lips parted and shaped an O, he finally understood what happened. He did use all of his battery, he did spend the whole day in the lounge room of the boat.
Ashton stood at the counter preparing some cheese toasties for dinner, humming while he did so.
"Oh god, no. Please, no food for me. Even the smell of food is making me nauseous!" Luke whined when he covered his nose and mouth with his hand. He squeezed his eyes closed, trying to fight off the threat of puke.
Calum giggled, "pregnant lukey?"
Luke slapped weakly at Calum, but missed, only swatting air. "No fucktard, sea sickness!"
"Still? Didnt your medicine kick in?" Michael asked as he stood up and snuck over to Ashton to grab the first cheese toastie that was finished.
Luke groaned and heavily dropped his head onto the table and shook it side to side, "noooooo... I do feel better but not 100 percent. I just hope I get to sleep tonight."
Michael successfully snatched the plate from behind Ashton as he was busy making the second cheese toastie , "hey!" Ashton giggled as he caught sight of Michael shuffling quickly back to the table. "You little shit! That one wasn't yours!"
Michael licked the top toast , "still want it?" He held it out to Calum, who looked disgusted.
"No way! Gross! Cooties!" Even Luke giggled at calums reply.
Michael was taking large bites out of his sandwich when a thought dawned on him. He looked from boy to boy then swallowed his large bite, "uh..? Who's driving the boat?"
"Oh shit!!" Ashton faked yelled then started to laugh. "I turned it off for the night. I left the other motors on so that the bathroom, lights, kitchen, and other stuff still worked though. Dork."
"Really? You'd really think we would leave the boat alone while it was driving? Think Michael think!" Calum said as Ashton placed a plate infront of him.
Luke snapped his head up and stared at the food that wasn't far from him. His face turned a shade of green and he scrunched his face, "oh god I'm going to be sick!!" Luke bolted up and ran for the stairs that led down.
Ashton turned off the oven as Luke ran by. He shook his head carrying his plate over to the table and sat. Soon, he too was eating in silence with the other two boys.
"I'm going to sleep!" Lukes muffled voice came from down stairs after a while.
Michael stood and placed his plate in the sink. "I'm going to sleep on these couches. They are wide enough and the motors aren't as annoying up here. hopefully I get some sleep." He spoke as he washed his hands.
When Ashton finished his cheese toastie he grabbed calums empty plate and walked over joining Michael at the sink. "You sure? I bet they aren't as comfortable."
"Well it's better then sleeping with you three and the motors, I'll take my chances , thank you very much. "
Calum quietly walked around the two as they spoke about the sleeping arrangements. He didn't care for the sounds of the motors, they reminded him of the tour bus's hum.
After he used the bathroom he crawled into the large bed that could easily fit five tall people. He heavily dropped his head on the pillow and closed his eyes.
It seemed like Luke had the same idea, not bothering with changing out of his clothes either.
By the time Ashton arrived to go to sleep, both Calum and Luke were already deeply asleep and cutely snoring.
He crawled in between the two and wrapped his arms around Lukes body, hugging the sleeping boy close. He buried his face against Lukes shoulder and soon drifted off to sleep.
Michael was sprawled out on the couch, annoyed that his body was rocking at a weird angle from the waves. He rolled over and hugged the blanket close to body, even though he didn't bother to undress to go to bed. He finally fell asleep, despite the annoying hum of the motors.
