Remember Lana? Yeah the girl i suspended in air. We found out today she's not suspended from school, and no disciplinary action will be taken. Apparently her stepmom and step wicked.. sorry sister.. got her out of trouble. Kassy however is suspended for 3 freaking days!! How messed up! Supposedly they said its because i choked her to near death and to keep them from pressing charges Kass had to be taken out. Honestly it's a good thing. I don't want Kassy around that snake.
I should probably give you a back story to why her family hates ours. When Lana and Kass were in the 4th grade they were best friends. They did everything together. Shopping, swimming, holidays, breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner. They were inseparable. Honestly so were our parents. Over that summer things were fine. We even took their family on vacation. They never told us what happened. We always suspected that our parents just had a falling out. It happens a lot when you have kids. You get close to your kids friends parents, and something always happens. Then you're not allowed to see each other any more.
Lana and Kass were wrecked. They loved each other. We didn't understand. Well when school started Lana started getting vicious, and so did her sister Athena. Nothing we did was enough. And as previously experienced, words became physical. This whole situation has never felt real. If only we knew what happened. We might be understanding, but that would mean them telling us the truth.

*DING* *DING* *DING*
My alarm going off was the bane of my existence. At least i didn't have to go to work. I mustered up enough energy to walk down stairs. "Mmm that smells delicious." My sisters smile grew immensely at the smell as she impatiently waited for food to be ready.
I saw mom at the stove cooking. Her body moved to the beat of the music Kassy had put on. I grinned at the sight of our family looking complete. If only very day could be this joyful. I wanted to freeze this moment.
"Mom you didn't have to cook us breakfast."

"She really wanted to surprise you guys." Dad wrapped Mom in a hug from behind. It was if for a moment there were no worries. Mom was happy. The thought of yesterday faded. Both Kassy and Mom wailing along to the radio.
"Tom stop not in front of the kids." She blushed, and for a moment everything was perfect.
I wonder why she was in a good mood?
"Alright girls, i'm off to an interview. You be kind to your mother while i'm gone." Dad walked around the table giving each of us a kiss on the head before he scurried out the door. He seemed excited for new oppertunities.

"Mom" my voice betraying me. Cracking as if i had swallowed wrong.
"Yes Fallon?" She glanced at me.
"Can we talk?" I desperately tried to hint that this conversation was more than rainbows and unicorns. It was potentially life altering.
"Of course." Her smile faded from her cheeks as she tried not to look worried.
"Hey Kass, wanna go up to my room and find us some pjs for a movie marathon?" Kassy ran up the stairs with that stupid smile on her face before she could answer. You would think a 15 year old wouldn't want this much time with her sister. Being stuck in a house when you don't have friends tends to do just that.

"Uh oh.. What's going on Fallon?" Mom's brows furrowed trying to make sense of my actions.
"I've been thinking a lot about what happened between the Meldeaux's and us." The energy in the room shifted as the tension built from the question I hadn't yet asked.
"We told you we're just different." I wasn't satisfied with that answer.
"That makes no sense. You guys were inseparable. Your telling me after years of sleep overs, and dinners, and vacations our family's were too different?!" She paused like she was about to explain everything.

"Yes Fallon that's exactly what I'm saying. People drift apart." I could tell her saying this made her sick. For a moment i thought she might cave but, Kass walked into the room giving mom plenty of time to escape.
"Do we wanna watch something scary or Christmas-y?"
"Does it really matter?"
"Uh duh Fal... its the base for our marathon." Mom swiftly exited the room avoiding my question entirely.
