Gripping onto your delicate drooping cottage dress, you briskly walked through the dusty dirt pavements of your home village, Mystica. It was a magical place, full of pixies and nymphs, elves and fairies, pretty much any fairytale creatures you could think of. You were an elf, with the usual pointed ears, small button nose but not stubby like one. In fact, out of your whole elf neighbourhood, you were the only one who was not short and that was something you took pride in. People took a liking to you due to your differences and you held them dearly.

Life as an elf in the hidden village of Mystica was simply divine and a calming peaceful way to live. You were secluded from the real world of humans with their factories, smog, pollution, hatred and crime. Mystica was the complete opposite. It was so ethereal and clean the sky was always a beautiful purple colour, grass green and vibrant with gorgeous plants and flowers. The animals weren't even the same, they had maybe pointier horns or different colour furs with magical designs on them. Anyways, you were currently walking through the fairy section, all of them fluttering around on their wings with wands in hands, fairydust sprinkled all over the grass below their hovering feet.

'Y/N, good afternoon!' They all greeted you in their sweet high voices.
'Afternoon, guys!' You smiled back.
You were kind of pacing through them all though, clutching both your brown dress and a basket of white mushrooms in your hands. Trying not to trip over your black mary janes, you continued down the dusty path and entered into the siren's cove. Walking through there was one of your favourites, they had huge stones to rest upon with blue crystal waters, giant clam shells for beds and endless pearls everywhere. They were singing and who were you to interrupt them?

You rushed through before you fell cursed to their song, and finally you reached your little elf neighbourhood. It was hard to not bump into them and trip over them as they were so little compared to your almost human-like figure, but their squeaky voices made it easier to locate them.
'Hello, Y/N, where have you been?' One old elf asked.
'Getting mushrooms from the forest!' You replied, slowing your pace down.
'For your mother?' He continued.
'She's making soup, so yes' You chuckled.
Your home was right in the middle, a tiny little cottage, just for you and your mother. Skipping to it after the hustle and bustle of everything else, you opened the wooden door and ducked your head to get in.

'Ah there you are my dear!' Your mother cried as she stared up at you.
'Hello, mother, I got the mushrooms' You replied, showing her the basket.
'Go pop them in the cauldron for me, and thank you' She smiled.
You walked over to the steaming cauldron, bubbling with some of your favourite soup and quickly chucked the mushrooms in. It smelled so good and so you hovered over it just waiting for it to be done.
'Y/N don't stand too close, your dress might get caught on the fire!' Your mother warned.
There was a blazing orange fire underneath the cauldron, smoking and crackling away on some charred logs. Stumbling back, you quickly ripped your dress away from it, this was one of the few dresses you had as there weren't many in your size.

She stepped onto the wooden stall and grabbed a wooden spoon, stirring it slowly as you watched it like a hawk. Suddenly, the small TV in the corner cracked on.
'Did you turn it on, Y/N?'  Your mother asked.
'No.. wait, oh it's another update'  You sighed.
A bit of context, Mystica was in conflict with a part of the human world. Their king was threatening an invasion and the tensions were high, basically everyone was living in suspense.
The same usual chimera (mythological lion, goat and serpent creature)  news reporter flashed onto the screen with a worried facial expression.
'It has been confirmed that the King of Siabu is planning a sudden invasion on our village, we do not know when but we advise everyone to either evacuate if necessary or prepare themselves'  She said with a shaky voice.

Suddenly, the TV's signal cut out and the screen went static. You turned to your mother and she looked terrified, her small figure nearly shaking.
'Oh mother, don't worry, if anything happens you have me to protect you!'  You said, hugging her.
'I'm sorry, Y/N, I'm just frightened'  She mumbled, her voice breaking.
'Hey, I will not let these disgusting humans mess up our beautiful village!'  You yelled, getting angry.
'You have always been so fierce when it comes to humans, darling'  Your mother giggled.
'They made us hide away, even though I love this place, but they still treat us like shit!'  You groaned as you ladled out some mushroom soup into a wooden bowl.

You effortlessly drank it in one go, not having enough time for a spoon. Just as you were on your third bowl, you heard everyone outside starting to rush around and shout everywhere. Still clutching the bowl, you and your mother rushed outside to see the fuss.
'What's happening?'  You asked as you watched all the tiny elves race around everywhere.
'We can see their ship, we need to evacuate now!'  Someone replied.
'What?! What's everyone else doing?'  You shouted, sipping the soup.
'The fairies are flying away, the sirens are going to the oceans, the ogres are going to the forests, but us elves have no idea!'  Another elf added.
However the ENTIRE village shook as the horrible sound of an airship horn rippled through the air.

'Y/N?! What do we do?!'  Your mother cried.
'We run, far away!'  You replied, grabbing her hand.
But then, the ground shook violently again sending everyone to their feet. A nauseating smell of smoke wafted around, causing everyone to plug their noses.
'Did the ship land, they're already here?!'  You yelled.
Wasting no time, you sprinted to the village's center which combined all the neighbourhoods together to see the most infuriating sight ever. A huge airship had landed in the middle, having crushed buildings and trees and everything inbetween, with human soliders piling out of it. The elves all let out a terrified cry as they sheltered behind you, who stood there without a fear in the world, just rage. Everyone was in the center, every fairy, nymph, ogre, sirens watched from the waters, pixie and just everyone.

A soldier stepped up onto a stool and towered over everyone as he took a scroll from his pocket. In the corner of your eye you saw the villagers who attempted to escape being pulled right back. You stood directly infront of everybody as they all continued to hide behind you, even the huge burly ogres. Staring at the soldier with a burning gaze as he gazed at the scroll. He then cleared his throat and began unrolling the paper.
'This is an invasion ordered by his majesty of Siabu, Kim Seokjin, you are all to surrender both yourselves and this land to him. After you do, you will continue to live here under his rule and will serve him as if he were your king. Those who show defiance will not be treated lightly so we suggest all to just comply with this and make it easier for all'
