I'm happy to see Danny but also nervous to see him with Mackenzie. I had to wake up earlier than I planned to make sure I looked okay. Someone knocking on my bathroom door had me almost slipping on a bar of soap rushing out of the shower.

I stepped out and saw my mom sitting on my bed holding a black bag. "What is that?" I said pointing at the bag. She lifted it up and smiled.

"You need your eyebrows arched, you can't wear a pretty dress, but have your face looking a mess."

"Great choice of words mother" I mumble. "Okay, but can I get mascara and lip gloss too?"

"Are you sure, I thought you didn't like the way the mascara always got into your eyes"

I thought about it, wondering how Danny would react to seeing me wear makeup.

"I just want to wear it for today"

"That's fine," my mom said happily

I sat down in front of her while she pulled out the makeup tools which looked a little intimidating in her hands.

Ten minutes later and my butt was on fire. I wiggled around to give my booty a break, switching sides every two minutes, but that only made the problem worse. My movements made mom mess up then she had to wipe it off only to do it over. By the time she was done, I felt more like a carved wood sculpture literally with only a few drops of paint to give me some color.

"I'm done, don't rub your eyes or it will smear again" she warned me

"Okay"

I glanced at the clock on my dresser and hurried to put on my shoes. I had three minutes until Danny's mom arrived.

"My little girl all grown up" my mom stated proudly

"Mom please don't start with that" I groaned

At that moment I hear knocking coming from our front door. "We're coming" mom yelled

We were walking downstairs when she stopped me on the last step. "Be careful out there and call me if anything happens Mia." She looked at me sternly.

" I will" Satisfied with my answer she lets me go then looks out the window before she opens the door. "Hey girl " she greets with a big smile then hugs her friend. "It took you long enough, I think I aged a few years waiting for you to open this door." Sabrina laughed

She looked over my mom's shoulder and saw me standing there. "Well look at you miss fancy pants don't you look like a doll"

"Thank you" I smiled

Sabrina was fun to hang around and Danny looked just like her, they had the same eye color and shaped nose, their personality was similar as well, but Danny's jaw and cheekbones were from his father, his entire family was pretty.

I stood there staring at the two of them. When my mom and Sabrina get together, they act like teenagers, it's like you can't get them to stop talking. While Sabrina and mom continued to chat, I went to the car.

Danny rolled down the window and stuck his head out the door.

"Why are you so dressed up?"

"Dressed up" I questioned "Didn't you tell me to look cute, before you hung the phone up on me" I accused him

He looked me up and down then started laughing.

"Yea but this is too much, you look like you're going to a wedding"

He points at my face still laughing "Are you wearing makeup?"

I crossed my arms and glared him down. "Yes, why?"
