While sending the address to Danny someone bumps into me splashing soda over my shirt "What the freak man" I slide my shirt off fighting through the crowd to get to the hallway.

I get near the back door when I hear someone dying outside.

"Yo, you alright? A girl with red hair rubs the back of the other girl bending over vomiting her stomach out. The girl stands up wiping her mouth.

"Mackenzie?" She turns to me with hazy-filled eyes "oh hey" she slurs as the girl on her right struggles to keep her standing. As much as I don't want to, I walk over to them. "Put your arm around my shoulder"

She leans her head back to look at my face "Sorry guy, but I don't flirt with just anyone go find some other girl" I yank her hands around my shoulder and lift her up

"If your friend wasn't here, I would've thrown you somewhere else so don't get cocky" She glares at me in her hazy state "Threw me where?" I look to my left where she was throwing up before.

Her eyes follow mine and she starts to get loud "In the trash? Put me down" She looks to her friend "Candace don't let him take me please" I bounce her up to not let her fall

"Stop squirming your heavy" Her mouth falls open like that of a fish "I am not, I'm the lightest women you've ever held in your life, probably the only"

I glare at her but not before pretending to drop her. "Careful, your mouth adds weight"

I walk past the crowd upstairs into an empty room. I drop her down onto the bed then come back with a towel in my hands "hey can't you be gentler" "I don't know, can you?"

She stares between me and the towel "are you going to take it or not?" She snatches it away, wiping at her mouth.

Her friend Candace sits beside her combing through her hair "well, I'm done here" I turn around to leave but "hey guy, don't go blabbing to others that you saw me like this" I turn to meet her gaze

"Now why would I do that when I don't want people to know that I know you?" Just looking at her gets me irritated.

"Oh and that towel is dirty, have a good day Mackenzie" I hear her screaming as I shut the door behind me. The towel was clean, but she didn't have to know that.

On the way to the kitchen, I get a text from Danny saying to meet him outside "hey dude" I pat him on the back as he points to my upper bare body

"what happened to your shirt?" I shrug my arms "juice got on me" we turn to see Mackenzie and her friend walking out with scowling faces directed in my direction.

I wink back which makes her even madder. "Uh-oh her she comes" Mackenzie storms over to us with her friend in tow "Kenzie what can we do you for?" She jabs her pink press-on nails into my chest

"How dare you disrespect me by giving me such a filthy towel and I wiped my lips with it" she declares disgusted "I did you a favor , A filthy towel for a filthy mouth"

We glare at each other and she jabs her finger even deeper "I don't like you" I couldn't help but smirk with glee "The feelings mutual"

She gives me one last stare down before flicking her blonde hair over her shoulder as she walks away.

"What was that about?" Danny stares after Mackenzie. Shaking my head, I pat him on the shoulder "I don't know how you did it with that one" Danny nods his head in agreement "me either, that's why it didn't last long"

"yeah, that's why" I walk back towards the party "what does that mean?"

"Exactly what I meant"

The next day I didn't think our mutual disdain for each other could grow, but I was so wrong.

Science class second period

"Mackenzie and Spencer, your topic will be the working of a brain cell" I don't think this teacher was using his brain when he paired us together.

Mackenzie glares at me from the first row "This is just great" On the way out of class I stop her from breezing past me "where are you going partner?"

we lock eyes with each death glare directed at the other "we are not partners"

"of course not but, for now, we are, so where you want to meet up. The sooner this is done the better"

"She flips her hair like she always does then writes her number on a torn piece of paper "here, I'll text you" and with that, she walks away.

The cafeteria was packed with students as usual as I went to our regular table near the back window.

"Someone please tell me they're serving French fries today.

That's the only edible item they have on their menu" Katy sets her tray of barf down "Good one spencer you might be right about that"

"of course I am" Danny takes the seat across from me while Mia hesitates before sitting beside Katy "uh you two are still at it, it's getting a little sad to watch now, don't you think?"

Mia rolls her eyes as she picks at the green mush that could be called anything else but food on her plate.

"you guys coming over on Saturday? Danny asks me and Cody "Nah, I can't, sadly I have a project to complete.

"dang" "yep, and speaking of projects where is my partner" I look around the cafeteria then spot her four tables down. Oh, there she is"

"Who?" everyone turns around "Mackenzie" They look at me with pity in their eyes. Katy places her hand on my shoulder "never have I felt so bad for you until now" "Oh shut up, you're making it worse"

I get up from my seat to walk toward the group of manicured fingernails and prissy attitudes. They all look my way as I approach their table.

"Care if I sit down" Mackenzie rolls her eyes "yes "I take a seat anyway then reach across her tray and take her French fries. She looks at me with disgust then slides her tray away from her.

"Please proceed with what you were talking about ladies" Kenzie turns toward me with a glare "our conversation has nothing to do with you, so leave"

"So soon"

"Yes, go somewhere else" I continue to eat her French fries ignoring her being a brat.

"Mackenzie if we didn't have a project together, I wouldn't be caught dead with you, so suck it up and stop being such a brat.

She stares at me in shock before a loud smack reverberates around the room along with the feeling of my stinging cheek.

I know this girl didn't just slap me. She quickly gets up, running out of the cafeteria with her friends following her.

I look at our table and meet equally shocked faces from Katy, Mia, and Danny while Cody just stares on like he expected this to happen.

Getting up, I walk back to our table "why did she slap you? I hold my hand to my stinging cheek "I guess I said some words she didn't agree with.
