I went in search of Danny, walking to the car I left him at, but the car was gone. I pulled out my cell phone and dialed his number. The ringing continued until It went to voice mail.
Where could he be? I hope he didn't leave with those girls and left me here. I called him three more times then gave up. Why wasn't he answering me?
The wind chose that time to pick up and it suddenly got colder. I called Sabrina instead and told her we were ready to leave, she told me she would be here in twenty minutes. When I got off the phone with her.
I took a deep breath. Okay waiting twenty minutes isn't that hard, I looked around the now almost empty parking lot. If I weren't alone, I could wait twenty minutes, but I am by myself while my best friend goes off to suck up to some girl.
I head back in the direction of the diner. I will not wait outside by myself, no way. I'm about to open the door until I see two figures on the side of the building.
At first, I thought it was Danny but figured I was wrong. I continue to walk in but stop in my tracks when I hear that familiar voice making my heart drop.
"You're such a great kisser Danny" Mackenzie squealed out loud.
I walked up to them, Standing there watching them kiss for what felt like an eternity before they noticed me.
When Danny saw me, his eyes went wide. He pulled away from Mackenzie and then wiped the pink lip-gloss from his lips.
"Oh, hey Mia, where were you? I tried looking for you" he stammered.
I knew he was lying as he said it. I honestly didn't know what to say right now, all I felt was disgusted and a little hurt and mad that I let myself get hurt by him. I turned my back on them, so they wouldn't see the pain written on my face.
"You didn't see me calling you?" I gritted my teeth
"Oh yeah"
That got me mad, I twirled around so fast I almost hit him, I should've.
"Yeah?" I repeated to make sure I heard him correctly.
"You saw me calling you, but you didn't want to pick up, is that what you're telling me. I thought you were looking for me, but you couldn't answer your stupid phone Danny" I yelled his name to get my point across that I was mad because obviously, he's not getting it.
He starts to interlace his fingers. "Well, I did, but-
"Why does he have to pick up your calls, when he has better things, he could be doing" Mackenzie winked at Danny making him blush.
I looked at her sideways contemplating if getting in trouble was worth making little Mackenzie Dalton cry, but then realized it totally was, who does she think she is.
"Mackenzie I wasn't talking to you, and what else does Danny have better to do than hang out with his best friend, oh wait I guess sucking face with a girl he hardly knows who thinks she's better than everyone" I glared at her
Her bottom lip begins to wobble.
" I don't think that," she says with her voice rising a little higher than before.
"Then why are you about to cr-"
"Why would you say that to her?" Danny interrupted scowling at me.
I was in total shock; how could he take her side over mine.
"Are you serious Danny, so you would take up for her, but not for me " At this point, I knew a vein was popping out of my forehead.
"She didn't say anything wrong, you did"
