THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE IS NOW KNOWN.
I guess there was always something that would make our day worse than it already was.
That something for my day was Gillian Walsh.
Oblivious to the palpable tension in the room, she sashayed in with a sickly sweet smile on her pretty arse face.
She was about to open her mouth again when she belatedly realized that nobody was in the mood to celebrate her arrival.
"What's up with you all?" she asked with a frown.
I felt Bryan's hand on my knee tighten. I didn't notice my fists were clenched until he reached over to relax them.
When no one answered Gillian, she walked over to her boyfriend and sat on his lap.
It was all I could do to not lash out at her then and there.
How dare she do that in front of me?
As if on cue, Shane's arms materialized around her, holding his girlfriend close. They started whispering to each other, Gillian's body language suggesting something else.
It was as if something inside me snapped, painfully reminding me that I was the best friend. Nothing more, nothing less.
One by one, the lads left the room until only me, Bryan, and the sicko couple were left.
My boyfriend tugged at my hand, averting my attention from Gillian and my best friend.
Bryan's gaze reflected hurt.
"Let's go," I said softly, mentally kicking myself for being such a jealous bitch when I had him.
He stood up wordlessly, heading straight to the room he shared with Shane.
I closed the door behind me, standing in front of him as he sat on the bed.
I decided to break the silence. "I'm sorry," I whispered, looking at the floor.
When he spoke, his voice was filled with raw emotion. "Do you really love him that much?"
I pleaded for him to understand. "Believe me, Bryan. I'm trying to move on!"
"By using me as a rebound," he stated coldly.
He radiated so much cold fury that I was afraid to be near him any longer. But it was my fault why we were walking on eggshells again.
It was always my bloody fault.
I bit my lip, sliding myself in between his legs. Gingerly, as if I were touching something fragile, I cupped his cheeks with my hands.
He closed his eyes and let out a somewhat wistful sigh.
My heart constricted at his reaction.
Was it possible to fall for someone you practically just met?
Here I was waiting for Shane Filan to reciprocate my feelings when Bryan . . . oh, my sweet sweet Bryan.
I was tired of waiting. I needed to decide who I wanted now.
"I'm choosing you, Bryan," I said softly, looking deep in his shining blue eyes. "Don't think for a second that I'm just you using you as a rebound." I took a deep breath. "I want you. Nobody else."
There was a flash of hesitation in his eyes, but it quickly disappeared as he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me down to crash his lips with mine.
For a virgin, you sure take things fast, Juliet.
A groan escaped his lips when I tugged at his hair, pulling me closer-if that was even possible-to deepen the kiss.
His touch left a trail of heat on the fabric of my shirt and I guided his hand under my clothes because nothing ever felt enough when I kiss Bryan.
I always wanted more.
His fingers skimmed my breast, earning a soft moan from me, giving him complete access to my mouth.
"Bryan," I groaned against his lips, straddling him on the bed.
He pulled away slightly, catching his breath. "It makes it harder for me to be angry at you when you do this," he said huskily, gazing deep into my eyes.
I marveled at the feel of something hard against my crotch. "Do what?" I teased, shifting slightly on top of him.
He buried his face in my neck, groaning as if in pain. "Don't do that if you're not ready."
An involuntarily shiver went down my spine at his words.
We both knew what he meant.
"I didn't know you're so . . . horny," I commented as he pulled back, his hands on my hips.
A smirk made its way to his lips. "Only you, Juliet, makes me feel this way."
Swoon.
I smiled, getting back to the matter at hand. "I'm sorry if you felt betrayed or hurt, okay?" I touched his lower lip with my thumb. "I won't leave you for him. Never."
He gave me a chaste kiss on the lips. "I know we're going fast-perhaps a little too fast for a new couple. But know that I won't rush you with anything you don't want to do, okay?"
Nodding, I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him close. "I hope we work out, Bry," I mumbled against his skin.
"We'll make us work, baby." His words were full of unspoken promises I so desperately wanted to believe.
I pulled back and ran my tongue along his lower lip, trying to make him feel the way I did everytime we were together.
Without further ado, he responded with equal fervor and moved his lips in sync with mine.
Just as we were deepening our kiss, the door swung open.
"Oh my gosh, babe," came the voice of the party pooper of all time.
