I woke up to some laughter the next morning. I took a quick shower and changed into comfortable clothes for the day. I followed the sound of laughter and voices to the living room where I saw two familiar faces. Matt and John were sitting in the bar chairs while Jaren was comfortably taking up the whole couch with his feet.
Jaren wore some of his new clothes of black cargo pants and a baggy dark green hoodie. He wore a bright orange beanie over his hair that curled out from the edges. I was right about being excited to see him in his new outfits.
"Good morning sleeping beauty." Puffer joked.
"Haha. Good to see you too, Chris." He gave me a side hug. Chris was tall and had black hair and scruff on his chin. He wore a pair of round glasses on his nose.
"Glad you're finally up. Stay up too late?" Nelson asked with a chuckle. Nelson was taller than I was and was well-built from his addiction to the gym. His skin was dark and his hair was dark brown.
"Yeah. Stayed up too late with your mom." I giggled before giving him a hug.
"I'll get you back for that one." Grizzy smiled.
"Now that we're all awake, let's go get some grub. I'm starving." John said as he got up.
"As long as I'm not paying." Chris responded. Everyone went quiet when a knock on the door echoed through the house. I looked at John who looked just as confused as I did.
"Were you expecting someone else?" I asked him.
" No. Maybe it's just a package." He answered. I shrugged and walked down the hallway to the front door. I opened it and my jaw nearly hit the floor.
"Moms?!" I asked.
"Hey there sweetie! So glad we found you!" The woman on my right exclaimed. She had long brown hair with enough makeup on her face to make an Egyptian Queen jealous. This was my mother, Julie. The other woman had a mix of purple, blue, and green dyed hair that was spiked up with hair jell and black eyeliner on her eyes. This was my mother, Vex.
"How did you find me?" I asked coldly. I didn't have a great relationship with my parents. I had told John about my abusive parents and I hope he remembered to just let me handle this and keep the guys inside.
"It wasn't hard from all the shit you post online. We taught you to keep yourself private. There are horrible people out there!" Vex exclaimed.
"Like you two..." I muttered under my breath, "Listen. I'm busy so I don't appreciate you stalking me and then dropping by unannounced."
"Sweetie. We just wanted to start over. Try and get to know you better so we can get close to you." Julie said with a sweet tone.
I rolled my eyes, "Not now. Like I said, I'm busy."
"Don't talk to your mother like that!" Vex demanded.
"No! You guys aren't welcome here and you never will be!" I snapped. I then slammed the door and resisted the urge to break down right there. I rested my head on the door and stared down at my feet. I knew the guys heard every word and were gonna ask questions.
There were some footsteps behind me, "Hey. Lea. You alright?" John asked softly and placed a gentle hand on my shoulder. I had told John everything about my moms and what they did to me growing up. I was glad I did to avoid them being seen by my parents.
"Yeah. I just wasn't expecting that." I choked while holding back tears. He pulled me into a hug that I needed.
"You can stay here if you want. Just lock the doors and windows. Call me if they try anything." He said in a soft tone.
