I had a hard time sleeping that night. Even though my window was locked, blinds were closed, and my black-out curtains were shut, I still was anxious. I was tossing and turning all night. I sighed when I started to hear birds chirping outside. I gave up on sleep and grabbed my phone off my nightstand. I wanted to figure out how my moms found me so easily. I tried looking up my YouTube account, Twitch, Instagram, and Twitter account through another account to see if I could find myself. Nada.
I looked through my friends' accounts to see if I could find myself. I sighed again when I turned up empty. There was nothing I could find about me and where I lived through the accounts. At least I was safe from fans stalking me.
Would my parents be crazy enough to hire a hacker to find me? I sat upright. My mothers would be crazy enough to hire a hacker to find me. I looked at my phone grimly and decided that I shouldn't post for a while. I hoped that my brain was just making up this stuff.
I got out of bed to try and distract my thoughts. I went to the kitchen for some breakfast and to make some coffee with one of my blankets over my shoulders. It was about seven-thirty in the morning so I wasn't too worried about waking anyone up but kept quiet.
"You look like you didn't sleep." Someone said softly while walking out of his room.
"Smii7y! You scared me!" I whispered-yelled.
He giggled, "Sorry. What are you doing up so early? You always sleep in." He was all dressed in some sweats and a T-shirt with a black flannel over it. Simple and comfortable while I was still in my pj's with a bedhead.
"I could ask you the same thing." I said to avoid his question.
"I'm still on Canadian time. It feels like it's nine to me. Did you even sleep? You look awful."
I deadpanned, "Thanks, and I did... a little." I finished making my coffee and took a sip while leaning back on the counter. It helped ease the tension in my body.
"Sorry. Not what I meant. Are your moms still stressing you out?" He asked as he joined me leaning back on the counter. My lack of response was a response for him. He wrapped his arm around me and pulled me into a side hug. Something inside me felt at ease when I rested my head on his shoulder. It was comfortable. The comfort I had been looking for all night. My brows furrowed as I thought about that.
"You good?" He asked with a chuckle.
"Yeah. Just thinking about something. You want something to eat or drink?" I asked to avoid the topic and I pulled away from him.
He shook his head, "I'm good. I don't normally eat breakfast. I shrugged and walked into the living room to check on the guys. Nelson was passed out on the couch with his leg hanging off the edge and his arm over his head. Chris was out on the floor, looking less like a twisted noodle than Nelson. I smiled and turned towards the kitchen.
Jaren seemed to be studying me as I walked back to my coffee I left on the counter. "What? My hair messy?" I asked him.
"Oh very." He responded with a sly grin.
I rolled my eyes, "Imma go get ready." I was about to head for my room but a knock at the front door made me halt in my tracks. I glanced at Jaren who also looked surprised before his eyes narrowed and he pushed himself off the counter.
My heart skipped a beat when he started heading for the front door. "Jaren," I pleaded and grabbed his shoulder, "Let me handle this."
He glanced at me with a look that startled me slightly, "It could be them." He looked so serious and almost angry.
"Exactly." I said, "I'll get it." He didn't argue but didn't look happy about it. I walked down the hallway to the door while trying to ease my nerves. Maybe this time it was just a package.
