I looked at my dress in the mirror. It was perfect. Silky white with some iridescent sparkles at the hem. It looked like my dress had frost creeping up the hem of my skirt. It was one of my shorter dresses, stopping below the knees. It hugged my frame perfectly, bringing out all my curves which I appreciated. I had low heels that sparkled like the dress with a simple silver necklace and a matching bracelet on my left wrist. I chose simple earrings that glittered like the necklace. I put on a silver ring on my middle finger that John had gotten me. Just a round band that wouldn't draw much attention.
My hair had taken the longest. I used pins to pin it up on my left side to expose my ear. I had small curls at the end of my hair that took me forever to do with a flatiron. My makeup was simple since I wasn't a fan of makeup. Just eyeliner and mascara. I grabbed my clutch off my bed for my phone and wallet before exiting my room.
John was sitting on the couch with Nelson and Chris. They stopped mid-conversation to look at me. "Dayum girl. Trying to get a boyfriend?" John teased. He wore a dark blue satin dress shirt with all of his rings still on his fingers. His hair was neat and his nails were freshly painted.
I reddened, "No. I can just let out my inner girl tonight."
"You look gorgeous." Chris said in a brotherly way. He wore a white lapel with a black vest and a red tie.
"Thanks, Chris." I smiled, "Where are Jaren and Matt?"
"Taking longer than the woman. Geez guys! You're worse than a woman! Literally!" Nelson yelled at their doors. He wore a suit with a white lapel and a forest green tie. I was so touched that they wore different colors whether it was intentional or not.
John looked at me and hummed, "I have an idea. Go back to your room Lea."
"Why?" I asked.
"Just trust me." He said. I shrugged and walked back to my room. I closed the door not really knowing what John's idea was. I heard voices outside of my room before a knock. "It's me, Lea." John said and opened the door. He held out his arm to me for me to take.
I giggled, "What is this for?" I looped my arm through his.
"Someone was excited to see you so I'm gonna make sure it's done right." He answered. He led me out of my room and Jaren and Matt were out of their rooms in their fancy clothing. Jaren's eyes widened when he saw me with John.
"Wow. Lea. You look beautiful." He said.
I smiled and felt my cheeks get hot, "Thank you. You look pretty good yourself."
Chris checked his watch, "We should go before they give our table to someone else." I stayed looped with John until we got into Chris's truck. He didn't sit in the back seats with me. Instead, Jaren climbed in and joined me in the back.
"Ugh. No wonder the two smallest people sit back here." He joked as he tried to get in.
"Are we going off of height or dick length 'cause only one of those is accurate?" John said as he sat down in front of Jaren after closing the seat.
"I'm not going to ask which one is accurate." Nelson said from the passenger seat. I rolled my eyes with a giggle.
"I think both are accurate." Jaren smiled. I smacked him on the shoulder lightly with the back of my hand. He laughed as he flinched away. We drove to the restaurant while goofing around.
We pulled up to the restaurant which smelled amazing from down the street. John got out to let us out. When I finally scooted out to be ladylike, Jaren was waiting at the door for me. When I stood, he extended his arm to me, "May I?"
