Max and I have been great these days, witnessing our friendship grow stronger with each passing moment. Though the shadows of my past embarrassment still lingered, I knew dwelling on them wouldn't change a thing.

Today was a thrilling race day in the vibrant city of Singapore, but I regretfully had to miss it. A morning shoot followed by a secret project unrelated to my modeling career had consumed my time. Determined, I wrapped up all my work by 3:00 PM, eagerly anticipating watching the race from the coziness of my home.

Returning home felt like a rejuvenating escape, given that I'd been out and about for most of the week. Lately, I'd been grappling with an inexplicable sense of fatigue, unable to pinpoint its cause.

As I shed my clothes and stepped into the shower, I couldn't help but look forward to the Singapore Grand Prix. The challenge of the circuit always intrigued me, and I relished witnessing how each car fared on this demanding track.

Since I hadn't had time to catch the qualifying rounds yesterday, I eagerly tuned into the race highlights upon arriving home. To my pleasant surprise, Ferrari claimed a double podium, with both Carlos and Charles excelling. I immediately messaged them both to convey my heartfelt congratulations.

However, the day hadn't been as kind to Max. Being ousted from Q2 must have been deeply frustrating. I made sure to reach out, offering words of encouragement as we engaged in a lengthy conversation that eased his pre-race nerves.

Sitting down to watch the race, my anxiety levels soared. Carlos led the pack, seemingly untouchable in P1.

Fast forward to the podium ceremony, and my heart swelled with joy. Carlos and Lando secured P1 and P2 for Team Carlando, a moment I knew the fans would relish. Their radiant smiles warmed my heart. Charles, too, had given his all, clinching fourth place. I felt like a proud mother watching them achieve such greatness. Max, who started from P11, fought his way to fifth place—an impressive feat, though I knew he wouldn't settle.

Filled with pride and admiration, I sent heartfelt messages to all of them, celebrating their remarkable achievements.

I of course told him he can call me whenever he wants. He called later that night, on FaceTime might I even add. I could see that he was beating himself up from today, and I tried to make him forget by telling him some weird random facts I found on YouTube or even telling him the ongoing drama between people on the internet.

Everything to see him smile.

As the clock continued to tick towards the late hours of the night, I sensed that Max needed to get some rest, especially considering his early flight. With a playful tone, I attempted to nudge him in the direction of slumber. "Alright, Maxy Taxy, it's about time for you to hit the hay," I chuckled.

But Max seemed more interested in my choice of nickname. He quirked an eyebrow and asked, "What did you just call me?" Seeing an opportunity to steer the conversation towards his much-needed rest, I replied, "Never mind that, Max. It's time for you to get some sleep. We'll catch up more tomorrow."

"Promise?" he inquired, a hint of vulnerability in his voice. I couldn't help but smile, genuinely touched by his gratitude. "I promise," I reassured him, my voice filled with warmth.

"Thank you so much, Maya," he expressed, his words touching my heart. "I really needed this. I'm so thankful to have you back in my life."

His heartfelt sentiments threatened to bring tears to my eyes. I playfully protested, "Max, don't make me emotional now; you're going to make me cry."

"Alright, I'll save the mushy talk for another time," he teased before signaling his intention to end the call. Before he could do so, I couldn't resist saying, "I'm happy to have you back in my life too."

A smile played across Max's lips as he looked at me and softly uttered, "Goodnight, Myra." I couldn't help but chuckle at the familiar nickname he remembered so well. With that, I ended the call, feeling grateful for the rekindled connection between us.

He still remembers?
