(Y/N) wasn't sure what to expect when they said those magic trigger words. Would it be an instant change? Would they feel any different? What was their costume going to look like? What they didn't expect was their body to feel so different. Their body felt lighter and they felt stronger. They felt like they could jump off anything without getting hurt, although they weren't eager to test that theory. (Y/N) didn't think that they would care for the skin-tight hero suits that Ladybug, Chat Noir, and the other heroes wore, but it felt surprisingly comfortable. They could easily move around without feeling constricted or suffocated.

The costume itself was black with a tasteful deep purple trim and a feather-like pattern scattered across the fabric in the same deep purple, their hands singled as a deck of cards appeared. They knew some weapons were odd. Hell, Ladybug saved Paris every single day with a yo-yo, but cards? What were they supposed to do, paper-cut villains into submission?

There was no time to dwell on a plan, no time to ask Aasraa for help. People were in danger. They were going to have to figure out how to be a hero and get back to Luka quickly. Upon a quick investigation, the cards showed all kinds of images. Something was telling her that the cards images were able to manifest physically. A pleased hum from what felt like their subconscious, (Y/N) could only guess that it was Aasraa, confirmed their suspicions. Still confusing, but better than throwing a card hard enough it cut someone.

"You learn faster than master expected, young hero" Aasraa's voice thrummed approvingly, "Shall we put that to the test?"

(Y/N) nodded, grabbing a slightly outstretched brick and launching themselves into the sky, landing softly on top of the building with a massive smile on their face. (Y/N) could do all kinds of things now, they could save lives if they got this hero thing down.

The moment of euphoria, marveling at their newfound abilities, was promptly interrupted by a massive thud, followed by scattered screams, coming from across the city. (Y/N) did a quick survey of the sky in just enough time to see a blur of the two heroes rushing to meet the new rival.

Before (Y//N) had a chance to overthink the situation or change their mind, they started running across the roofs of the city. Soaring through the sky as they leapt from building to building. They felt the wind behind them and basked in the warmth of the sun as they moved with the grace of a bird. Naturally, the stumbled a little in the beginning as they got accustomed to the newfound lightness of their body, but they quickly found their footing. The presence of Aasraa gave them an air of confidence that they didn't imagine ever having on their own, they felt distinctly powerful...but they also felt like they were being watched.

A quick glance to the ground and (Y/N) saw a sea of phone cameras pointing at them as they ran. It wasn't every day that a new hero appeared in Paris, so (Y/N) wasn't shocked, but it was an unpleasant reminder that they'd have to go to great lengths to hide their identity. It wasn't just hiding it from Luka and their other loved ones, it was tricking all the speculators and theorists across Paris. Some people can find a person based off a description and nothing more, (Y/N) recalled with a heavy sight, hiding their identity was going to suck.

(Y/N) settled on top of a roof-top deck, ducking behind a chair as they surveyed the situation. The victim was massive, dripping in some kind of deep red, acidic slime and melting things as they walked. The Akuma appeared to be obvious, seeing as the goggles on top of the beast's head were the only thing that didn't melt, but (Y/N) had no clue what to look for.

Chat Noir and Ladybug were struggling though, so (Y/N) didn't have much time to worry over the details. Anything they could use to defend themselves was melted away as quickly as they got to it. (Y/N) felt their cards get heavier in their hands. Upon resting their hand on the deck, they pulled one out. The card seemed to beam at them, reading protection and accompanied by a picture of an elaborate shield. (Y/N) looked from the card to the mass chaos below, flicking their wrist and hoping for the best.
