|Elena Beaumont|
"Conway Airlines?" Ethan hummed curiously, lifting his brows at me suspiciously.
I gave him a playful mini eye-roll, snatching my ticket from him and shoving it into my small Chanel purse. I couldn't help but widen my smile a little, dismissing whatever he wanted to say next.
By now, hiding my relationship with Xavier from him was pointless because he'd already seen us cuddling and stuff. He was old enough to put things together.
I turned back towards the backseat, lifting my open palms forward towards Mason and Lucas. "My favourite brothers," I mused, smiling sweetly at their brightening faces.
It took less than two seconds for two small palms to gently slam into mine, their smiles turning into full grins. "Bye, Elena," Lucas chirped, waving enthusiastically.
"See you on Sunday," Mason pitched in, imitating his twin's waving action.
After insisting on tagging along, Ethan had allowed them to come along and promised them a joyride to a waterpark. It was good enough to lift their pure spirits and get them into a jovial mood.
I turned back upfront, slipping on a plain black cap to cover my face as well as a face mask. If these past two weeks had taught me anything then it was that I wasn't just regular common Elena Beaumont anymore but the wife of a billionaire and the daughter-in-law to an influential family.
Paparazzi were becoming too normal and I'd hate being the centre of yet another scandal before burying the one from the club.
"I'm picking you up when you come back or that's been already arranged?" Ethan asked as I opened the door and stepped out.
I picked on the humour in his tone, giving him a slight nudge with my elbow. "We'll keep in touch."
With those words, I fully stepped out before walking forward with a deep controlled sigh. I'd never felt so frustratingly secretive in my entire life and it sucked especially given my sour mood.
I adjusted the length of my slit beaded tied detail leather bodycon dress as I walked, the thigh-high boots I wore accentuating my power walk despite the rising panic levels in my bloodstream at the sight of random people with their cameras.
I fished my phone out of my bag, my mind set on contacting Xavier. He had to be here by now, given I'd been caught up in traffic and delayed my arrival by roughly fifteen minutes.
I figured I'd already missed two calls from him before choosing to call him back as I proceeded forward towards the compartment he'd directed me to earlier.
A slight whimper slipped past my lips as I roughly collided with someone's chest, my phone falling straight from my hands and crashing onto the ground.
I crouched down almost immediately, reaching for my phone with my cheeks reddening with instant embarrassment. I should have been more careful in such a public setting.
