Ghost Forest

We were in a forest with faces carved into the trees. "We can't linger. We'll be captured." Syzoth told us.
"We will need help getting Kenshi and Jax to the portal." Kung Lao said.
"I can take you only to the city's gates. Tarkatans are forbidden inside." Baraka said.
"I can help the rest of the way. It's the least i can do to make amends." Syzoth offered.
"So what is this creepy forest?" I asked.
"The Living Forest. Souls of the dead are housed in these trees. Good ones. Not evil." Baraka told us.
"Know anyone here?" Johnny asked.
"Some distant relatives."
"You will find no Zaterrans here." Syzoth told us.
"About Zaterrans, how is it that you can shapeshift to a human form, but no one else in your species can?" Sonya asked him.
"It was a gift i was given. It made me a freak among my people." Syzoth told us. "I was terrorized. Ran out. I joined a carnival. People would pay good money to see me. Shang Tsung and I crossed paths, and he asked to study me. When i declined, he took my family hostage." He said. We heard something roaring. "Baraka, Syzoth, you're up." Johnny said. Baraka's arm blades came out and Syzoth turned to his natural reptile form. They ran ahead. We lagged behind and got to them. We saw some girl with face markings. "Quan Chi sends more demons?" She asked. She charged at them.
"Wait! We're not demons!" Baraka tried telling her. She kicked Syzoth back. Baraka fought her. She seemed very interested in killing them. Baraka used his blades to fend off against her glowing, gold blade. Baraka managed to hold his own. He whacked the blade into the ground, and took her down. "Whoever you are, we are not demons." Baraka told her.
"If not demons, what are you?" She asked. Syzoth shifted to his human form. "He is Zaterran. I am Edenian. Or I was before my Tarkat affliction."
"Outworlders?" She exclaimed. "I apologize. I'm glad i didn't cause either of you major or permanent injury." She looked at us. "Who are you?"
"Earthrealmers." Sonya said. "We're trying to get home."
"Our friends here got into some trouble." I said. "We need to get home to try to get them healed."
"Oh dear!" She ran to us and looked at Jax and Kenshi. "Who tore your arms off?"
"Believe it or not, Princess Milena. She has Tarkat and she ripped my arms off, then gouged Kenshi's eyes out." Jax told her.
"What about you? Who are you?" Johnny asked.
"I am Ashra. Demon of the Netherrealm." She told us.
"The Netherrealm?" Johnny questioned.
"Did you sleep through every lesson?" Kenshi asked.
"Johnny, its Hell. But you don't look like a demon." Sonya said. "You seem mostly human."
"I am mostly human because i have killed many demons Quan Chi has sent." Ashra told us.
"Quan Chi? Is he associated with Shang Tsung?" I asked.
"Tsung is a sorcerer who's screwing with the Outworld royal family." Johnny added.
"I know. Quan Chi has been aiding him." Ashrah told us.
"We should try to find him. Quan Chi could lead us to Shang Tsung." Kenshi said.
"Me and Syzoth can aid you." Baraka told you.
"Ashrah, lead the way." I said.

We followed Ashrah through the living forest while she told us her story of why she did not want to be a demon anymore. "Is Quan Chi also a demon?" Kenshi asked.
"Actually, he is an Outworlder. But he mastered a dark magic needed for unfettered travel to the Netherrealm." Ashrah told us. Then her sword started to glow more. "Quan Chi is near." We went around the corner and saw Quan Chi. With two men and two demon women. "Just one soul stealer can kill hundreds of thousands. If he unleashes a battery of them—"
"Millions will die." Baraka said, interrupting Ashrah.
"Then let's stop him while we can." I said. Johnny put his other hand on Kenshi's shoulder. "Hey, your stop is here, Kenshi." Johnny told him.
"No. I can't." He said. "You heard them, millions will die."
"Which is why we don't want you—"
"Tripping us up. We're sorry, Kenshi. But you can't fight out there." I told him.
"Yeah, what he said. Now give me your sword." Johnny said.
"Why?" Kenshi asked.
"Just give it." Johnny said. Kenshi gave Johnny his sword. Johnny took it, then gave him Sento. "Johnny. That is very... surprising." I said.
"He saved my life. It's all his." Johnny told us.
"Thank you, Johnny." Kenshi said.
"Jax, you should stay back with Kenshi." Sonya said. "You don't even have arms."
"You're right." He told us.

We ran to Quan Chi as he was about to work on the chamber. He and a demon turned to us. "Ashrah. And it appears you have allies." He said.
"We've joined against you, sorcerer. You wont be stealing any souls!" Ashrah told him. One demon girl jumped at Ashrah while Baraka and Syzoth took on the guy with his hair completely combed over to the side. Kung Lao took on the other demon girl. Johnny took on the guy with orange and black armor that would look great on Halloween, and he was wearing sunglasses. "I'll help Kung Lao." Sonya said.
"Then i got Johnny." I told her. We helped who we said we'd help. Sonya and Kung Lao with his razor hat were able to get the demon girl down. Me and Johnny were able to restrain the dude we were fighting for long enough for him to almost fall. Ashrah brought down the girl she was fighting. Then, the soul chamber started working. "It's a...soulnado." Johnny said. Quan Chi began chanting. Then, the souls formed a body. "We are Ermac." It said. "A collection of souls, bound by Quan Chi's magic."
"Kill them!" Quan Chi said. Baraka attempted to slice them in twain, Syzoth tried biting him, and I was able to pull my gun out. But Ermac used his abilities to bring down all of us. Ashrah fought the guy with hair to the side, Havik, i think he was called. Then she fought Ermac. Ermac grabbed Ashrah's sword by the blade and swung her away. We got back up and did everything we could to take him down, but we weren't strong enough. Me and Sonya were thrown next to each other. She reached out. I grabbed her hand and squeezed it. "We can't go out like this." I said. She got back up. We saw Kenshi get thrown. Ermac faced us.

Kenshi's POV...
I lost Sento when Ermac threw me. "Kenshi Takahashi." I heard.
"Who is that?" I asked.
"Your ancestors. Come to us." I heard. It was Sento. I crawled to it. I grabbed it and rose up. "In your time of need, the Taira will not fail you." It said. My vision came back. I saw a guy in a hood about to attack Y/n and Sonya. I ran at him and fought him. "Holy shit." Sonya said. I managed to stick Ermac with Sento and it syphoned some of his souls. Ashrah ran over. "This fight is not over. I'll defeat all of Quan Chi's minions." She said.
"We are many. You are one." It...uh... they said. Me and Ashrah used our blades to fight Ermac. While they did damage, they were somehow not able to slice off any of his limbs. But after many slashes, we defeated Ermac. Then multiple voices started speaking out of unison. One at a time. Then I heard one say, "Sindel! I'll find you!" Then Ermac dropped. Ashrah went to shut down the soul stealer.

Y/n's POV...
We got Johnny, Baraka, Syzoth, and Kung Lao up. "They got him." Sonya said. "We captured Quan Chi." Me and Sonya went to grab Jax. "You alright?" I asked.
"Yeah. No one attacked me. I'm good." Jax told us. Johnny approached Kenshi. "Clearly i underpaid for Sento." He asked.
"Sento restored my vision in its own way. The legends never mentioned mystical powers." Kenshi said. "Now lets get Quan Chi to Earthrealm." He said.
"Well... before we go, we should talk to our Outworld friends." Sonya said. "Baraka, your home is here. In the colony."
"Yeah. They need a good leader." Baraka said.
"Don't forget about us." I said, patting Baraka's back.
"But Syzoth, Ashrah. You can come with us if you want." Johnny offered.
"I've never had a home. That would be wonderful." Ashrah said.
"Then you'll enjoy Earthrealm." Jax said. "But to give you that home, we gotta get there." Jax said.
