Breaking the rules

Megan’s point of view

“It’s a new season boys and with new seasons we get new players this year it’s only happens to be one player Nick Carter I’m making it your responsibility to make sure he feels welcome and knows my number one rule” my dad told his senior players

My dad is the coach of grand falls high’s boy’s hockey team.  Hockey is his life, well half of his life now.

My dad used to be an NHL player before I was born, he would have continued to play but my mom died giving birth to me he had to give up his dream to take care of me.  Since then it’s always been him and me against the world so he is very protective.  

Every year he tells his players his number one: Don’t Date His Daughter.

And if they don’t follow that rule we have no clue what would happen sine every one of his players have followed it. Which kind of sucks for me because all the attractive boys at grand falls high are on the hockey team. But I have learned to deal with it, for my dad’s sake.

As my dad continued to talk to the senior players I wondered what the new player looked like because he has a hot name so he is probably hot which is a problem.

After my dad’s talk with the guys he grabbed his stuff and we walked out to the car.

“Do you want to order some pizza and watch the game tonight?” my dad asked as we left the school parking lot

“Do you really have to ask” I responded and my dad laughed

Ordering pizza and watching the hockey game has been Thursday tradition for my dad and I since I was able to talk, and there is no stopping that now.

“I guess not, can you call and we can pick it up on the way home” my dad said and I nodded

I called Freddie’s pizza and ordered are usual. Which is one large all meat pizza and a medium garlic finger.

After picking up the pizza my dad drove us home, when we got home dad and I went inside and straight to the living room. Where the giant flat screen TV awaited us. I sat the pizza on the table and turned on the TV. The game was about to start, so dad and I sat down on the leather couch eating our pizza.

The game tonight was the Pittsburgh penguins vs. the Toronto maple leafs. And as always the Pittsburgh won, the score standing at 3-1.

   After saying goodnight to my dad I went to my bedroom and got ready for bed.  Once I was ready for bed I got in bed, put my headphones in turned on my music and fell straight asleep. I was really tired at least tomorrow is Friday so I will have two days to catch up on sleep.
