 Chapter 5: Megan’s point of view

“Line up boys” my dad told his players

The guys skated over to be were my dad was standing.

“Today we will work on being a TEAM” my dad said looking over to some off the seniors forwards were.

Who I like to call the “puck hogs” because there all conceded jerks who think their better than everyone else and think that hockey is a one person sport.

“Because some of you think hockey is a one man sport and only think of your selves” my dad continued.

Father like daughter, I thought to myself

“ to start off the practise the returning players will do 5 laps, 15 suicides and 25 push-ups and Nick you will show me and my daughter you’ve got” my dad finished off.

 The returnees started there warm up while my dad, nick and I skated to the middle of the ice.

“Ready?” I asked nick

“I’m always ready” nick said winking at me

Which kind of caught me off guard, no guy flirts with me like ever because of my dad’s rule.

I brushed it off and skated over next to my dad.  

“Ok, Nick first you are going to do some shooting” my dad told him

Nick skated so he was in front of the net and begun shooting.

His technique was amazing, I was impressed and by the look on my dad’s face he was too.

As the returnees finished up my dad said "Ok Nick it's time for part two; game play."

"You and a player of your choice will work together and try to score against two defenders and a goaltender," my explained.

Nick looked around and at the other player before saying "can i have Megan?"

My dad looked at me and i smiled.

"Ok Megan grab one of the guys stick then go stand with Nick," dad said

"Travis, Alex go play defense, and Dylan go in net" he told his players.

I went over and took James stick.

"Don't hurt Betty!" James said letting go of the stick.

"Betty?" I questioned.

"Bahaha dude you named your stick Betty." Josh one of the seniors said.

"Yes I named my stick Betty, some people name their cars I named my stick get over it." James explained.

I laughed and skated over to where Nick was.

"Ok, you guys know what to do?" My dad asked.

We nodded and started. Nick had the puck first, he skated closer to the the defense. For a second i thought he try to score by himself till he quickly turned around and passed me the puck. I skated closer to the net as both Travis and Alex skate closer to me. Leaving a tiny space in between them, i passed through the space then skated around them and towards the net. Nick passed me the puck back and i got ready to take a shot, while nick got ready for the rebound. Knowing Nick had the better shot, i pretended to shoot then passed the puck to him.Nick got the puck scored.

"Good job, practice is over i'll see you all tomorrow," my dad said.

I gave James back his stick and skated to the bench. I began to untie my skates when Nick came over and sat on the bench.

"You just keep getting better and better," he said taking of his helmet.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You never fail to surprise me, when we met i thought you were super pretty and nice now the fact that your an amazing hockey player. You just keep getting better and better." Nick said looking me in the eyes.

I never noticed how blue his eyes were till now. I was lost in his dreamy eyes when i felt a pair of warm lips on mine.

Nothing has ever felt so right.
