Breaking the Rules: Chapter 8: Megan's point of view

I stood there stunned. Did Nick really just ask me out?

"I want to but I can't.." I managed to finally get out.

"Is is because of your dad's rule?" Nick asked.

"Yeah," I said without looking up at him.

"You can't let him stand in the way of who you date," Nick said lifting my chin so he could look me in the eyes.

"I really like you Megan, I don't care if your dad won't let you date hockey players, and I don't care if we have to go out in secret," he told me.

 "Really?" I asked him.

"Yes, so will you go out with me?" Nick asked.

"Umm.. Yes, my dad can't find out though," I told him.

"Don't worry, he won't," Nick reassured me. Before continuing to walk to first period.

I sat in biology thinking of all the possible ways my dad could find out. When Nick passed me a note.

It read, "Stop worrying Meg, your dad's not gonna find out".

I turned over the piece of paper and wrote, "You better be right".

Nick smirked as he read the note.

"Babe I'm always right," he whispered in my ear. Sending shivers down my spine in the process.

“Don’t be cocky it’s not attractive,” I told Nick.

“Not attractive?” He asked and i nodded.

“Then why are you blushing?” Nick smirked, as i tried to cover my face.

 Curse these rosy red cheeks.

Nick removed my hands from my face, and said, “You’re so cute.”.

 “Shut up,” I told him.

“It’s true,” he laughed and I stuck my tongue out at him.

“Are you going to the party at Drew’s house Friday?” Nick asked me.

“Maybe, if my dad let’s me go,” I told him.

“Are you going to tell him it’s a party?” He asked.

“No, i’m just gonna tell him the team is hanging out at Drew’s,” I said.

“Good idea, because i’m pretty sure your dad would kill us if he knew we were going to a party,” Nick said.

“He wouldn’t have a hockey team that’s for sure,” I laughed.

Nick and I talked until class was over.

My next 3 periods were a blur. All I could think about was going to that party on friday, somewhat with Nick.  I hated that we had to keep us a secret, but i guess it’s for the best.
