Chapter 9: Megan's point of view
"Shit shit shit," I mumbled under my breath as Nick and I slowly turn around, only to face my very pissed looking father.
He stood there, arms crossed, impatiently waiting for an answer.
"Uhh.." I stuttered.
"About the surprise team dinner she was planning," Nick says, savings both our asses.
Dad look at us both intently before saying, "Oh, well i'll pretend to be surprised I guess,"
"Yeah," I agreed.
"Well i'll see you both at practice later," he said before walking towards the gym.
"That was close," I breathed, as soon as Dad was out of hearing range.
"Yeah, sorry about that I should have just kept my mouth shut," Nick says.
"It's not your fault, we both just have to be more careful," I tell him.
"Yeah, a lot more careful," he said as the bell rang.
"Walk me to French?" I asked him.
"Sure," he replied.
"So what are you doing after practice tonight?" Nick asked.
"Nothing, why?" I said.
"A couple of the guys and I were gonna go for pizza, do you wanna come?" He asked me.
"Hell yes, I'm in need of a good slice of pizza," I say and he laughs.
"You are something special Megan Reed," Nick says before walking towards his own class.
"You too Nick Carter, you too," I say even though he couldn't hear me.

Nick's point of view
Wow, she is something, I continued to think as I walked to English. Only two periods left till I get to see her gorgeous face again.
The last two periods flew by. Before I knew it, it was time for practice. After getting my gear from my car, I headed to the rink. I open the door to the change room, and heard a scream. I turned the corner, only to see Tyler curled up in a ball holding his crotch.
"Umm..." I say, confused at the scene in front of me.
"Tyler was being a twat, so I kicked him in the balls," Dylan explained.
"Ohh makes sense," I say.
"Wait, what was he doing that made him twat?" I asked.
"He made a comment about Megan," Dylan said, still looking pissed.
Suddenly I felt myself getting angry. I looked down to see my fists clenched, as tight as they could be. What has gotten in to me? I just met Megan less than a week ago. Why am I already so protective of her? Because you like her, that's why you asked her out remember, I thought to myself. I sit down on the bench, and being to get ready. Before I do something I regret. Once I'm ready I head to the ice, and as usual I'm the first one. I began to skate around the rink, taking in everything it has to offer. After a couple laps, I grabbed my stick and a hand full of pucks and began taking shots. As I waited for my teammates.
