carve my heart with your name - poetry

𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭

a few days ago
out of curiousity,
i browsed through a website
and looked up your name

hundreds of notes appeared on my screen
and i read through all of them

everyone had a different story to tell
with someone they knew or had known,
with the same name as yours

i scrolled down further
and delved into the anonymous letters
penned by strangers
who reside across the very same earth
we inhabit

and oh,
how fortunate i felt
knowing that
i once had you to call my own.

it's astonishing how many people share your name, and yet i got to know you.
