"Greetings to all you lovely students and welcome to my wonderful institution!" The squeaky childish tone was coming from the front centre of the gym. Upon the announcement stand sat what I could only describe as a plush white and orange fox with a seemingly evil sharp toothed half grin. The fox plushie waved cheerily at us all as it appeared to beam with joy. "Apologises about the unorthodox method of getting ya all here."
"So you're the little fucker that brought us here?!" A clearly ticked off Kasumi questioned the strange being before us.
"Ah it's a cute little fox plushie!" Emi's eyes sparkled when she saw the strange fox.
"Why is a plushie fox talking to us?" Chiyoko moved her hands in front of her chest in a defensive manner, feeling nerves brought about by the plush fox.
"Something like that must have a powerful and really well developed AI integrated into it and not to mention the craftsmanship that has gone into creating such a robot, it's so impressive." Hibiki started to admire the talking plush as he muttered quickly to himself.
"Hey, why did you bring us all here in the first place?" Akio demanded an answer.
"Woah, woah. Calm down with the bombardment of questions, they will all be answered in due time. Now let's get one thing straight, I'm Monosune, not 'plushie fox' so remember my name! I'm the headmaster of this here institution so also remember to give me the respect I deserve cause I'm sensitive, okay?" A gloom hung over Monosune's head as his ears drooped down but he soon perked up again. "Yep, I'm the one who brought you here but don't be worried, I'm not evil or anything. And now onto why I brought ya all here. This is actually a school field trip to help ya all to get to know each other better and you'll be collecting friendship shards, six for each student to be exact. When this task is fully complete you're all free to return home. It's as simple as that!" Monosune explained.
"Wait that's really all we have to do?" Kouki spoke up. "So we aren't actually trapped here?"
"Yep, that's all! Of course not and to prove that you're not trapped, take a look." Monosune took out a remote from god-knows-where then pressed the button with a beep followed by rumbling as the metal shutters began to open. Intense light flooded my vision for a split second and it was noted that the temperature had vastly improved from the building's chilling air. The scene that awaited us just beyond the now open shutters was something we all certainly weren't expecting; a tropical island with crystal water, lush greenery, and chalky white sand.
"Oh and before you all start exploring I have a small present to help keep track of your entire friendship shard collecting progress." Monosune produced a set of sixteen tablets from behind the announcement stand then started handing them out. "These are ya personalised Kitsune-pads. They have all the rules and information ya need for a great and orderly time on this Island. Also these are highly shock resistant and water proof so ya don't break them. Now with that I'll take my leave but don't worry I'll be back again at some point to check on ya progress." Monosune waved as he disappeared from sight.
"I guess we should explore this Island then and start gathering these friendship shards." Akio replied as he scanned through his Kitsune-pad.
"Yeah and exploring is where my talent shines!" I grinned. "Come on nee-san; let's go explore this place with Akio."
"I'll let the two of you explore together, I think I'll go and become familiar with the other students and start collecting these shards. The quicker we do that, the quicker we can leave." And with that Rem took her leave and strolled out of the gym as some of the others did.
"Well I guess it's just you and me then." I glanced over at Akio and he put his arm around my shoulder.
"Let the exploration begin!" He smiled brightly and threw his hand up in the air with an excited energy radiating from him.
